North Carolina Students Granted Right to Attorney at Campus Courts

I had no idea there were such things as college courts. Do you?

From The Freebeacon:

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed a law granting college students the right to an attorney in campus courts, Friday, that had previously been denied to students facing disciplinary charges.

It took me seven years to get my Bachelors in Nursing in 1994 because I had to work and put myself through school. I attended a Community college as well as the State University of New York and there were no frigging college courts. What the hell is going on with our kids, folks. Its about time we stop this stupid notion that every child in the United States MUST go to college. Colleges are cesspools nowadays. Well maybe not Hillsdale College. But they don't get government money. I wonder if they have a college court?

"Students across America are regularly tried in campus courts for serious offenses like theft, harassment, and even rape,” he said. “Being labeled a felon and kicked out by your college carries serious, life-altering consequences.”

“Because the stakes are so high, students should have the benefit of an attorney to ensure the hearing is conducted fairly and by the rules,” Shibley said.

Number of Long-Term Unemployed ‘Unprecedented’ Under Obama

From The Freebeacon:

The economy has seen an “unprecedented” number of long-term unemployed under the Obama administration, according to a liberal think tank, and economists say plans pursued by Democrats in Washington are unlikely to curb the problem.

Nearly 5 million workers are classified as long-term unemployed, while 900,000 more have stopped looking for work altogether, according to a new series of reports issued by the Urban Institute.

Three percent of the labor force has been out of work for more than six months, an improvement of only one percentage point since unemployment spiked in October 2009, according to the study.

15 things everyone would know if there were a liberal media

Brian sent this to me to use on the show, but I am posting it instead. First, this guy did a lot of work to tell a lot of lies. Kudos to him. Second I hate people that have hyphenated names or only go by one name. What the hell? Also when you see the nice colorful graphs he presents, make sure you read the fine print to see where he got them from. Oh, and don't forget to take a shower, it is the Daily Kos after all.

From: The Daily Kos

Prince Riebus (and apparently many others) still thinks there's a liberal media.
While I share Prince's frustration with the media, as a liberal, I'd like to go on record and state that the media isn't focusing on issues I care about. They seem to be far more focused on entertainment and making money.

Obama takes women's issues from campaign trail to international stage

I am so sick and tired of this President and his commie administration touting "women's issues", that includes Mama Michelle Obama, (and that is not a term of endearment I give to her, folks). We are not footballs to be thrown around from political player to political player or piles of play-doh to be molded to fit anyone's agenda at any given moment!!

From Fox News:

President Obama brought women's issues – a major topic in the 2012 presidential campaign -- into world politics Saturday, when he said world leaders at the G-8 summit assembled to discuss Afghanistan, the European debt crisis and other international issues, but also talked about "female empowerment."

"We had a brief discussion around the issue of women's empowerment, where we agreed that both, when it comes to economic development and when it comes to peace and security issues, empowering women to have a seat at the table and get more engaged and more involved in these processes can be extraordinarily fruitful," Obama said at the Camp David presidential retreat, located about 90 minutes from the White House, in western Maryland.

I could talk to three different women and get ten different answers on what our "issues" are. So how in the hell do these people know what our issue's are? And on top of that, these people are mostly MEN!!! Look I blame us "we the women" for this problem. We have let ourselves be used for centuries. It's time to tell the world we are not victims, we are not idiots and no one can tell us what issues we care about. If I want to work, I will find a way to work. If I want to stay home and raise my family, I will find a way to do so. If I want to sell my body or start a business, I will make it happen. I can't stand the feminist movement, we did not need it then and we don't need it now. And we certainly do not need these pin head politicians telling us anything. They work for us, we need to be telling them what to do!!!!

We have got to take our States back NOW!!

I just got off the phone with my Montana State Transportation Dept. Why was I calling them? Well, in my state, citizens that use gas for "off road" use are entitled to a refund from the state tax we paid on that gas. My state is primarily an agricultural state so there is a large majority of farms and ranches that use gas for their farm equipment, which never see pavement, among other things that use gas. But the refund is for anyone that uses gas not intended for vehicles that drive on the roads and highways of Montana. (boats, ATV's, snowmobiles and jet skiis are exempt, I know how stupid is that, they never see pavement either)

I apply for the refund every year because I use gas to run our generator for our electrical use. And since I am not a business or a farm/ranch I never had to submit my gas receipts unless something did not jive and they asked me for them. Until now.

I was told today by the helpful man who handles these refunds that I must submit every gas receipt for the year that I was requesting a refund. Each receipt must have my name and address on it. When I asked him why I had to do that this year and not all the other years I had been requesting a refund, he told me that the federal government ie; the IRS had come to the State of Montana and told the State they were changing the rules surrounding the State gas refund.

The first thing I said to this helpful man was that we need to take our State back from the federal government. He said "I agree one hundred percent". This from a state employee!! He told me that the IRS was also requiring businesses, farms and ranches fill out IRS forms so that the federal government can tax the gas refund. Yeppers folks, the federal government wants to tax a State refund. It's a wonderful life huh?

Anyway, I was also told by this helpful man that his boss was so afraid they would loose their job that they told the IRS agent that they would do anything to accommodate the federal government. So what was the response from the IRS agent to this submission? We'll be back in four months. (Don't want to loose those federal highway funds, nope nope nope)

How many other sneaky policies are being instituted across this great Republic against the States? How many State bureaucrats are folding like cheap lawn chairs to the will of the federal government?

I keep all of my receipts so this is just going to be an inconvenience for me. But it should be an inconvenience brandished upon me because of my States' decision, not some pencil pushing federal dope located somewhere in Washington DC. We better wake up people, things are getting dicey.

Firm uses mushrooms to make eco-friendly packaging

This will make all the eco-nuts feel warm and fuzzy.

From usatoday.com

Turns out that mushrooms — great in soups and salads — also make decent packaging material. Mushrooms are a key ingredient in pale, soft blocks produced by the thousands in an upstate New York plant. The blocks are used to cushion products ranging from Dell servers to furniture for Crate and Barrel.

More precisely, the packaging blocks are made with mycelium — the hidden "roots" of the mushroom that usually thread beneath soil or wood. Two former mechanical engineering and design students in their 20s, Eben Bayer and Gavin McIntyre, figured out how to grow those cottony filaments in a way that binds together seed husks or other agricultural byproducts into packaging shapes.

Look, capitalism works if government gets the hell out of the way. Manufacturers will go green if they can make a buck. "We the people" know what is best for us, we are not children and our Founding Fathers knew that. So back off and let us live free!!

Sorsha the Dog

“Sorsha the dog”, our dog, passed away on Saturday July 2nd 2011, the day that the Declaration of Independence was written in 1776. She went to sleep peacefully in the grass looking out over the mountains of our remote property and was buried in a shady spot underneath a mighty Fir tree surrounded by many Aspens. She was fourteen years old and a beautiful fluffy Golden Retriever-Chow mix. She traveled the entire North American continent with us, when I was a Travel Nurse.

Our furry child led an incredible life. She has ridden in elevators in five star hotels, she swam on the shores of the Great Lakes; she has slept in a tent with on every mountain in the United States. Sorsha was very protective and loyal. She was gentle but quick to leap into action to protect her home and her family. She was known by many names; My personal favorite, “Misses Sorsha Fluffy Butt”, her Native American name “always in the way dog”, and her four wheeling companion name, “Sorsha the four paw drive doggie.” We loved her dearly and she is much missed. Thank you, God, for her presence in our life. May God grant everyone as special a pet that we were blessed with for fourteen wonderful years.  And always remember, God spelled backwards is: DOG.

Minnesota Government Shuts Down

From online.wsj.com
Minnesota encountered its second government shutdown in six years on Friday as Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican lawmakers failed to reach a compromise on closing the state's $5 billion budget gap.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in Iowa averted a shutdown Thursday, and several other states waited for governors to finalize their budgets.

Without a two-year budget agreement in place, state parks and the Minnesota Zoo will be shut for the July 4 holiday weekend, nonemergency road construction will halt and thousands of state workers will be furloughed.Minnesota's battle has been echoed in budget fights across the U.S. States had to close a collective $86 billion budget gap for their new fiscal year, which began Friday for most states, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Is your state next? Scary times folks. Are you and your family prepared? It's time to think about self-reliance.Technorati Tags: , , , ,

On Bravo, Kathy Griffin Mocks Bristol Palin's 'Leno' Chin, Mangles Bachmann Speech

From newsbusters.org
KATHY GRIFFIN: Okay, so, Bristol Palin has this brand new chin, and I swear to god, she looks like Jay Leno. Your very own Jay Leno from Andover. Right, Andover- all right. But it's like she took a picture of Jay Leno, went to the dentist and said, "can I have this?" It's really- I-I, I'm just saying-it's, like, out there. But the comedy comes in, in her statement. So, may I read you her statement, directly? Okay. I got my little notes - okay. So, uh, Bristol Palin said, "I had corrective jaw surgery." Let's just-let's just take a minute. Not a chin implant, corrective jaw surgery. "Yes, it improved the way I look, but the surgery was necessary for medical reasons." No, that-that's true. Like, when I had my first face lift, it was 'cause I was fighting scurvy. And when I had my eye job, it was 'cause I had rickets. And for - "it was for medical reasons, so my jaw and teeth could properly realign."Who did she blow last night

I am sooo, sooo freakin pissed about this stupid bitch. I had to have "reconstructive jaw surgery" for medical reasons. All my siblings and I, except for one had "buck teeth" (two of them still do). That condition, (and I am putting my RN with a BSN hat on), deteriorates the gum line due to mis-alignment of the teeth. I had two gum operations and was told that without "reconstruction" I would loose most of my teeth and if I had an infection in my gums it could affect my heart. It took two years and I had to have my jaw wired shut for six months to get the job done. It started in 1992, with the surgeons cracking open my upper jaw. My husband had to turn a key to a lock that was surgically implanted in my upper jaw that stretched my jaw to the point that there was a one to two inch space between my two front teeth, every night. The pain was bad and constant. I was going to Nursing school for my BSN during the whole ordeal. So screw you, you sick crazy commie bitch, Kathy Griffin, just shut the hell up. You are not funny and need to go.
