Sorsha the Dog

“Sorsha the dog”, our dog, passed away on Saturday July 2nd 2011, the day that the Declaration of Independence was written in 1776. She went to sleep peacefully in the grass looking out over the mountains of our remote property and was buried in a shady spot underneath a mighty Fir tree surrounded by many Aspens. She was fourteen years old and a beautiful fluffy Golden Retriever-Chow mix. She traveled the entire North American continent with us, when I was a Travel Nurse.

Our furry child led an incredible life. She has ridden in elevators in five star hotels, she swam on the shores of the Great Lakes; she has slept in a tent with on every mountain in the United States. Sorsha was very protective and loyal. She was gentle but quick to leap into action to protect her home and her family. She was known by many names; My personal favorite, “Misses Sorsha Fluffy Butt”, her Native American name “always in the way dog”, and her four wheeling companion name, “Sorsha the four paw drive doggie.” We loved her dearly and she is much missed. Thank you, God, for her presence in our life. May God grant everyone as special a pet that we were blessed with for fourteen wonderful years.  And always remember, God spelled backwards is: DOG.

Ice Storms and I feel your pain

I know bill Clinton always said "I feel your pain", which is ridiculous because I have never listened to a bigger narcissist, but this massive low pressure system causing these ice storms almost killed me. Seriously, it hurt to breathe, my hands were shaking so bad I could not type, I had no energy and the pain was excruciating. It is actually funny that I feel so good today, because I am still in pain, but it is so much better than yesterday.

I have never missed a radio show before except for a true emergency, but I canceled last nights radio show. I have done it before feeling like utter crap, but there was just no way I could do it last night. My apologies for not showing up to work, but it was literally impossible for me to focus or use my computer.

Some of you may be confused at this point. You see I moved my radio show to Monday through Thursday 8pm eastern and the show will go on tonight.

Also note, the Patriots Pub is moved to Friday 8pm eastern.

Update from The Mountains!

I have been way too busy to blog lately. today we are fighting a blizzard, I had work to do on my ATV, cut split and stack wood and we had to pack the roads. But we are fine, although Susan is a bit freaked out about driving down the mountain in this stuff. hehe

UB Update

I know I didn't post anything the last 2 days, but I am trying to stay alive up here and I just haven't had anytime. I still have to cut, split and stack 10 cords of fire wood and the high here today is only 31 deg F.

We picked up an ATV for a good price yesterday, so we are getting there. We are still looking for a snow mobile, but my neighbor and I are hoping to be able to keep pen the road this winter with plows on our ATVs, this will be allot of work. But we both have wives that have to get to work, if we cannot keep it open we will have to have a snow mobile, another cost I cannot afford.
