proposal brings outrage from education officials
A school district in
Indonesia has considered giving a virginity test to female high
school students.
"We are planning a
virginity test for SMA (senior high school) girls and their
equivalent,” H. M. Rasyid, head of the educational office in
Prabumulih, South Sumatra, told Kompas on Aug. 19, according to the
news site Khabar, Southeast Asia.
Obama: Sex Ed for
Kindergartners ‘Is the Right Thing to Do’
The Chicago Public
Schools this year are mandating that the district’s kindergarten
classes include sex education, fulfilling a proposal President Barack
Obama supported in 2003 when he served in the Illinois state senate
and later defended when he ran for president in the 2008 election
cycle.

Immigrant Gains and Native Losses In the Job Market, 2000 to 2013
I just heard a list of fast food restaurants and department stores that are going to lay people off or cut their hours before the October implementation of Obamacare. It was staggering. No one is hiring full time anymore. Brian sent me this article and it just points out how bad things are already in the job market. This is madness!!
From the Center for Immigration Studies:
While jobs are always being created and lost, and the number of workers rises and falls with the economy, a new analysis of government data shows that all of the net gain in employment over the last 13 years has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal). From the first quarter of 2000 to the first quarter of 2013, the number of natives working actually fell by 1.3 million while the overall size of the working-age (16 to 65) native population increased by 16.4 million. Over the same time period, the number of immigrants working (legal and illegal) increased by 5.3 million. In addition to the decline in the number of natives working, there has been a broad decline in the percentage holding a job that began before the 2007 recession.
This article is extremely thorough. It will give you knowledge and ammunition to throw at your elected cockroaches at the town halls that they hopefully will be attending while they are not in DC destroying our lives. No More Immigrants, Legal or Illegal, just say NO!

Military communities brace for 'hardship' as defense furloughs take effect
This just pisses me off.
From Fox News:
Officials at military bases and other DoD facilities will have some flexibility in scheduling days off. But the furloughs will nevertheless result in non-essential civilian workers missing one paid workday a week -- a roughly 20 percent pay cut -- over the next three months.
This pisses me off because, one: when you are furloughed by the government you get back pay when the furlough is over and two: if you cannot survive without losing one days' pay you are a dufus and you and your family have made some very bad choices. Brian and I live on a fixed income that does not and will not change, EVER. We have cut back on every expense we could, including not having Direct TV. I am sick and tired of all the whining and entitlement mentality that is pervasive in America now.

And how many of these civilian jobs are redundant and need to be eliminated? The government is to big, all of it. So, suck it up people, because if it was up to me all the agencies would go bye bye! I'm only sorry that they started and maybe finished at the Defense Dept, it should start at the executive branch, starting with President "Caesar" Obama.

Green products may be good at generating lip service, but they’re not so good at opening wallets. http://www.businessnewsdaily.com/2383-cost-green-products.html

Credit card companies woo struggling mortgage-holders
It seems that certain credit card companies are targeting sub-prime customers, people with bad credit. If you are one of them do not be sucked into more debt!
Technorati Tags: news, economy, money, debt, mortgages, credit card debt
As subprime borrowers began to default on their mortgages in rapidly growing numbers this year, credit card issuers increased their efforts to sign up such customers with tarnished financial histories, according to a market research firm. This is incredibly irresponsible behavior for a lender. Not only the company but the people taking them up on these offers. folks a change in lifestyle is required to get your backsides out of debt! The goal in life should be to live debt free, this includes paying off your mortgages, not constantly refinancing your home! Let us go back to celebrating the mortgage burning, not perpetual debt and not actually owning your own home.
Direct mail credit card offers to subprime customers in the United States jumped 41 percent in the first half of this year, compared with the first half in 2006, according to Mintel International Group. Direct mail offers targeted at customers with the best credit fell more than 13 percent.
