Sticker shock as food and gas prices are set to go higher
You don't have to be an expert to notice that costs for many essentials are at all-time high. From gas to food, Americans can expect to pay even more in coming months.The current national average for a gallon of gasoline is $3.67, higher than it's been since 2008.

Why Are Gas Prices So High?
High gas prices are caused by commodities traders. They bid up the price of gas contracts on the commodities futures markets. These commodities exchanges allow investors to buy contracts of gasoline for future delivery at an agreed-upon price. However, many traders have no intention of taking ownership of the gasoline. They plan to sell the contract for a profit, instead.

Lawmakers call for investigation into mass graves in Texas
The mass graves of suspected unidentified immigrants buried haphazardly in a South Texas cemetery and uncovered this month by anthropologists should be secured by state police until a criminal investigation can be carried out, a Texas lawmaker said Sunday.

House Speaker John Boehner announced Wednesday he plans to file suit against President Obama over his alleged abuse of executive power.
"This is not about impeachment -- it's about him faithfully executing the laws of this country," Boehner said.

Common Core controversy: Is US Constitution a living document?
A classroom resource provided by a group founded by three lead writers of the Common Core State Standards teaches 8th graders as fact that the U.S. Constitution is a "living document" and that the nation's founders only considered white males with property as persons under the law.
