Obama Reduces Pay Increase for Federal Employees

Civilian federal employees won't get as big a pay raise as expected next year, President Obama announced Monday.

In a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Obama said he has decided -- in light of the economic crisis -- that civilian federal employees should receive a 2 percent pay increase starting Jan. 1, 2010, instead of the 2.4 percent across-the-board increase that was expected.

"With unemployment at 9.5 percent in June to cite just one economic indicator, few would disagree that our country is facing serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare," Obama wrote. "The growth in federal requirements is straining the federal budget."

He just admitted that there is a problem with Federal Spending and he wants to SPEND MORE!!!! May the good Lord help us all.

Giving China help with cyber warfare

The Obama administration is considering easing U.S. export controls to China even though the director for national intelligence is warning about Chinese cyber warfare threats to U.S. military information systems. In addition, there are increasing reports of Chinese military buildup to match U.S. capabilities, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

The one group jubilant over the White House decision to undertake yet another comprehensive review of U.S. export control laws toward China is the U.S. business community.

"The U.S. has one of the most robust export control systems in the world," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said last week. "But it is rooted in the Cold War era of over 50 years ago and must be updated to address the threats we face today and the changing economic and technological landscape."

Bill Reinsch, president of the National Foreign Trade Council and a former U.S. Commerce under secretary who was in charge of export controls, applauded the White House initiative. Through the NFTC, the Coalition for Security and Competitiveness, or CSC, similarly supported the initiative.

China has already tried dipping their toes in this water. Russia brought down an entire country using these techniques. Yea, and I know, I'm on the internet now.

H1N1 Could Kill as Many as 30,000 to 90,000 in U.S., Report Says

The H1N1 flu virus could cause as many as 30,000 and 90,000 deaths in the United States and "poses a serious health threat" the Obama administration's advisory group on Science and Technology said in a report released Monday.

Deaths would be concentrated among children and young adults, according to the report. In contrast, the typical seasonal flu kills between 30,000 and 40,000 annually — mainly among people over 65.

The report predicts 1.8 million will be hospitalized during the epidemic, with up to 300,000 patients requiring intensive care units.

These patients could occupy 50-100 percent of all ICU beds in affected regions at the peak of the epidemic and would place "enormous stress" on ICU units.

More needs to be done to speed up the "preparation of flu vaccine for distribution to high-risk individuals," otherwise the vaccine campaign – currently scheduled to begin in mid October — will have potentially missed the peak of the epidemic, according to the report.

Monday’s report from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, PCAST, shows a sober assessment of the dangers of a pandemic, but also serves as a pat on the back for a White House preparing for its first public health crisis.

Obama ‘Quite Comfortable’ As One-Term President, White House Spokesman Says

President Barack Obama is “quite comfortable” with the prospect of being a one-term president in order to address the issues he is concerned about, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Friday.

The comment came on the same day the president’s approval reached a new low, with only a 45 percent approval rating in the Zogby International poll released Friday. The poll said that 51 percent disapprove of the president’s job performance. The Real Clear Politics average of all polls puts the president approval rating at 52.2 percent.

Gibbs was addressing a question about a comment made by Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa), who said the president told him he is willing to risk a second term to get a health care overhaul bill approved.
Gibbs said that would be true of most issues.

I'm glad. Because the people will fire you in four years if you keep these policies going.

White House Blasts 'Disgusting' Crowds Embracing Lockerbie Bomber in Libya

This is exactly what the families of his victim's said would happen if he was released. Now every "nut job", Muslim terrorist will feel empowered.

The White House blasted the jubilant, flag-waving Libyan crowds that greeted Pan Am bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, who was convicted in the 1988 killing of 270 people but is being embraced in Libya as a returning hero.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the elaborate homecoming in Tripoli for al-Megrahi was "outrageous and disgusting" — offensive to all the families of those killed in the 1988 Lockerbie attack.

As al-Megrahi woke up a free man Friday morning, Scots expressed their "shame" at their government's early release of the Libyan national, who was set free on compassionate grounds and flown back to die of cancer at home rather than behind bars.

This is a prime example why "Club Gitmo" must remain open and under United States control. You can take my tax money and pay for that, President Oboma. The rest of the world cannot be trusted to harbor these monsters. Only we can. We do not torture them, and we do not set them free so that they can kill more innocent men, women, and children.

Regarding The Federal Government involvement in 'Helping Us'

Here is some food for thought on federal disaster relief, social programs and welfare…

James Madison is the acknowledged father of the constitution. In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 for relief of French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo to Baltimore and Philadelphia. James Madison wrote disapprovingly. He said “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that Article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

President Franklin Pierce in 1854 vetoed a bill to help the mentally ill. He said “I cannot find any authority in the Constitution for public charity …. [this] would be contrary to the letter and the spirit of the Constitution and subversive to the whole theory upon which the Union of these States is founded.”

In 1897, President Grover Cleveland vetoed an Appropriation to provide disaster aid to victims of a Texas drought. His veto stated: “I feel obliged to withhold my approval of the plan to indulge in benevolent and charitable sentiment through the appropriation of public funds … I find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution. The lesson should be constantly enforced that though the people should support the government, the government should not support the people.”

Obama Surrounds himself with radicals

If it wasn't bad enough that President Obama has stated he chooses who he associates with carefully, such as radical black activists and marxist professors. If Tony Rezko, Rev Jeremiah Wright, Rev James Meeks, Dr Henry Louis Gates Jr, the 70s terrorist turned propagandizing professor, Bill Ayers, Other Mentors, you might not have heard about and the groups he left off his resume was not enough, how about his administration?

Presidential health care adviser Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and chairman of the Department of Bioethics at the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health, has argued that independent government boards should decide policy on end-of-life care. He also has defended rationing care more strictly for older people because "allocation [of medical care] by age is not invidious discrimination."

Hmmm, let us add to Dr Emanuel this little tid bit...

In an April 28 New York Times interview, the president spoke of having government guide a "very difficult democratic conversation" about "those toward the end of their lives [who] are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here.

I report you decide...

Now, how about the president's "chief science adviser," John P. Holdren? He co-wrote a book "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," a book he co-authored in 1977 with noted doomsayers Paul R. and Anne H. Erlich, Mr. Holdren wrote: "Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society."

Mr. Holdren and the Erlichs considered other extremist measures. "A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men," they wrote. "The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control."

Oh, it gets worse. The Holdren-Erlich book also promotes "Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods." After noting that, well, yes, there were "very difficult political, legal and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems," Mr. Holdren and his co-authors express hope that their idea may still be viable. "To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements," they wrote. "It must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets or livestock."

Yup, and this is just the tip of the iceberg, how much more will we learn about who he "carefully chose to associate with" during his life?

When Obama said he wanted to "radically change America", he was not kidding.

Three Indicted in Largest Corporate Identity Theft Case in History

Federal Authorities indicted three men in New Jersey in a massive identity theft case that the Justice Department is labeling as the largest in American history.

Albert Gonzalez of Miami, 28, is charged with acting with two unnamed conspirators to locate large corporations and steal vital account information in a crime that the Department of Justice calls "the single largest hacking and identity theft case ever prosecuted."

Authorities say more than 130 million credit and debit card numbers were stolen in a corporate data breach involving three different corporations and two individuals. The card numbers, along with additional account information, were allegedly stolen from Princeton-based Heartland Payment Systems; 7-Eleven Inc., a Texas-based convenience store chain and Hannaford Brothers Company, a Maine-based supermarket chain.

When I worked for the state, and they updated their computers and computer system they failed to delete any personal information and pass words used by their employees. They then, sold the old computers to a company that had access to all that info. Do you remember when the same thing happened to our Veterans?

My Health Care Plan

Just so you know, you are having an affect on congress and the democrats and the LSM attempt to demonize the people, speaking out against the government run health care/public plan notion, has backfired on them. We need to keep up the pressure on our elected cockroaches.

With that said I felt I had to tell you all what I think should be done and not just tear down what they are trying to do now.

IMO, what needs to be addressed, to improve the health care in America, is:

1. Malpractice lawsuit awards need to be reigned in, the cost of malpractice insurance is way too high and in some states unobtainable.
2. Portability (your insurance goes with you from job to job),
3. insurance companies need to be allowed to sell insurance across state lines, adding competition and broadening the insurance pool.
   
4. Co-ops need to be created for purchasing insurance by individuals and small businesses.
5. Requiring, in order to sell health insurance, that the insurance company MUST pay for whatever the doctor and patient decides the treatment is going to be; peer review panels can decide if the doctor is padding after the fact.
6. Pre-tax contributions to health savings plans (HSA).

If they stuck to this outline they could drastically improve the health care industry and could easily get the bill passed.

U.K. Hits Back at U.S. Health Reform 'Untruths'

Pilloried by right-wing opponents of Obama's health plan, Britain's National Health Service, known here as the NHS, is fighting back.

"People have been saying some untruths in the States," a spokesman for Britain Department of Health said in a telephone interview. "There's been all these ridiculous claims made by the American health lobby about Obama's health care plan ... and they've used the NHS as an example. A lot of it has been untrue."

He spoke anonymously in line with department policy.

Is there trouble in paradise? But seriously, what kind of political game are these two playing? I never understood why Billy Boy would ever stand back stage to Killary. A new White House tactic to control the message on health care reform has critics accusing the Obama administration of playing "Big Brother" and threatening the privacy of average Americans.

"No one expects that when they exercise their First Amendment rights to ask questions or complain about a proposed government program that they're going to be listed on a database in the White House," Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, told FOX News Thursday, saying the White House effort raises serious privacy concerns. "You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to see the potential for serious abuse."

On Tuesday, the White House posted a blog that asked supporters to report "fishy" information they come across about the health insurance debate. The appeal was made at the end of the blog, which showed a video that countered a set of online clips that made it look like Obama wanted to eliminate private coverage.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there," the blog concludes. "Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

ABC: Town Hall Wrath at ObamaCare 'Appears to Be Orchestrated'

U.S. Northern Command would not comment on the Russian submarines' movement. But in a prepared statement, Northern Command spokesman Michael Kucharek acknowledged the patrols and said the U.S. has been monitoring the two submarines.

Two senior U.S. officials, however, said the submarines had been patrolling several hundred miles off the coast and so far had done nothing to provoke U.S. military concerns. The officials provided details on condition of anonymity in order to discuss intelligence reports.

Iran Awaits Ayatollah's Nod to Build Atomic Bomb

Now, while the Lame Stream Media and the rest of the world "speculates", I will let my learned readers "decide". After, I have asked the following questions: How do we know they do not already have such a weapon? Just because the media and the powers that be around the world say so? And, what great plan does the "world" have for stopping them if they do?

Iran has perfected the technology to create and detonate a nuclear warhead and is merely awaiting the word from its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to produce its first bomb, Western intelligence sources have told The Times of London.

The sources said that Iran completed a research programme to create weaponised uranium in the summer of 2003 and that it could feasibly make a bomb within a year of an order from its Supreme Leader.

A U.S. National Intelligence Estimate two years ago concluded that Iran had ended its nuclear arms research programme in 2003 because of the threat from the American invasion of Iraq. But intelligence sources have told The Times that Tehran had halted the research because it had achieved its aim — to find a way of detonating a warhead that could be launched on its long-range Shehab-3 missiles.
