Congress has a Boat load of Work to Do!

War funding
Of course the democrats think not sending a clean funding bill is a winning sstrategy for them, I don't think so. I think the American people want the military completely funded, even if they want out of Iraq.

Alternative Minimum Tax
The argument isn't whether to fix the AMT, but how. with the Democrats wanting to raise taxes on "The Wealthy".

Government spending bills
They have not passed ELEVEN of the TWELVE bills governing federal spending for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1st! They have actually set a new record!

Surveillance
Both parties want to approve permanent revisions to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a 1978 law governing interceptions of communications involving foreign terror suspects. The problem is how much court review should be required when foreign targets call or e-mail Americans. Another problem is whether companies that help the government eavesdrop on such calls should be given immunity from lawsuits.

AT&T, Verizon and Qwest face about 40 such lawsuits with potential damages in the billions of dollars,

Children's health insurance
President Bush this year vetoed a $35 billion over reaching SCHIP bill. The President said the bill was too costly and the program should cover the poorest children before being expanded to middle-class families.

Republicans are actually working for an override! It is not the federal government's job to provide healthcare for anyone, but some people keep expanding the power of the federal government.

All this work, especially the spending bills left undone while the democrats try and tell us how successful this congress has been. They actually think we are that stupid...
