Guess What Happened to Ramos and Compean's Accuser?

Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, two former Border Patrol agents, are each serving more than a decade in federal prison for shooting an illegal alien as he was fleeing to the Mexican border. The illegal alien, Osvaldo Aldrete Davila, was smuggling approximately a million dollar's worth of marijuana into the U.S.

However, rather than be commended for doing their jobs and trying to crack down on the endless flow of illegal immigration, Ramos and Compean were prosecuted. U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton granted immunity to the illegal alien drug smuggler in exchange for testimony. Ramos and Compean were sentenced to prison, and Aldrete Davila was released. Mr. President! Free Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean!

Ask President Bush to commute the sentences of the imprisoned Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean! Go HERE TO SEND A MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT BUSH - Action Alert!!!

In October 2006, Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean were sentenced to 11 and 12 years in federal prison for shooting an illegal alien drug smuggler who had brought 743 pounds of marijuana across the border into the United States.

Texas-based Federal Prosecutor Johnny Sutton used his discretion to charge the agents with a firearms offense that carries a mandatory sentence of 10 years in federal prison in addition to charging them with a total of 12 other offenses.

Now, the illegal alien drug smuggler has been rearrested! Please tell President Bush that it's time that justice was given to former Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean.

Senators Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) and David Vitter (R-La.) have introduced Senate versions of Rep. Heath Shuler's (D-N.C.) SAVE Act (Secure America with Verification Enforcement [H.R. 4088]). Sen. Pryor's bill is S. 2368 and Sen. Vitter's bill is S. 2366.

The two bills are substantively the same -- essentially both bills are identical, so the best thing would be to encourage your Senator to sign onto both. If they want to make a choice based on something other that the substance of the bill, that is their call, but NumbersUSA has endorsed both.

Send this fax asking your Senators to cosponsor BOTH S. 2368 and S. 2366, important bills that would immediately begin to reduce illegal immigration.
