And it is not a pretty picture . . .
You know, it just doesn’t take a lot of journalistic prowess to uncover the problems caused by illegal immigration due to our government’s refusal to enforce our borders and our immigration laws.
Just a quick trip through the headlines this month, and keep in mind that we are only two weeks into this month, gives us an ugly glimpse at our nation’s problems.
Nationally, illegal immigration has reached a critical mass. You know it. I know it. But unfortunately, our government doesn’t quite get it.
As city after city, state after state, tries to enforce laws that our government deliberately ignores, many are landing in court. This week, a state judge threw out Valley Park, Missouri’s first attempt to curb illegal immigration in their community. But, the city board members are not giving up and have a new resolution they are considering. And Mayor Lou Barletta found himself in court this week defending the city of Hazleton, Pa’s decision to enact laws against illegal aliens.
Yet while city after city struggles to do the job our feckless officials in Washington refuse to do, even the Department Of Labor Admits H-1b Can Displace US Workers! And H-1b would be a legal form of immigration.
Not only do illegal aliens displace American workers but in just the past two weeks they are once again in the crime headlines.
(KUTV) SALT LAKE CITY - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials, over a two-day period, arrested a dozen sex predators living in the Salt Lake City area – including a Central American man who abused five young girls between the ages of three and nine. [snip]
Agents say those arrested in Utah are natives of Mexico, Germany, Sudan, Croatia, Samoa, Guatemala and the Congo. All are now in the process of being deported.
SAN YSIDRO, Calif. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have repatriated a 27-year-old Juarez man wanted for raping and murdering a cocktail waitress in that Mexican border city more than two years ago.
ICE officers from Los Angeles transported Joaquin Gutierrez Payan, a.k.a. Ricardo Manuel Gutierrez, to the border crossing at San Ysidro, Calif. yesterday where he was turned over to Mexican immigration officials. Gutierrez is wanted by Mexican authorities for raping and strangling Cinthia Irasema Ramos Quezada in December 2004. Gutierrez is also being sought for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation into the slayings of several other women in the Juarez area.
Iowa:
Police say man tried to lure 3 girls into van.
A man who approached three children and tried to get them into his van on Monday has been arrested.
Police charged Jose Hernandez-Yelasquez, 31, of 1600 Oakland Ave., Des Moines, with three counts of enticing children.
Jail records show Hernandez-Yelasquez was arrested in Des Moines three years ago and was held for immigration officials.
The children, ages 11, 13 and 14, were in the 400 block of Forest Ave., when the van stopped and a man asked them to “come here.” The girls told police they approached cautiously but kept their distance. The man then made lewd comments and when the girls started to walk away he told them he had money.
RALEIGH, N.C. — A father and son from Clayton were laid to rest together on Thursday.
Funerals for Jerry Braswell and his son, Jerry Jr., were held at a church in Garner Thursday afternoon.
The Braswells were killed Sunday in a fiery crash that police say was caused by Luciano Tellez, an unlicensed, illegal immigrant with prior DWI convictions.
A 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico has been arrested in connection with last month’s bus stop abduction of a Florida boy who later staged his own dramatic escape.
Authorities said the kidnapping victim, 13-year-old Clay Moore, was alive today because of quick thinking and a safety pin. Moore was abducted two weeks ago while waiting for the school bus.
“Some guy just pulls up in a red truck and tells the kid to get in the truck or he’s going to shoot, pulls out a gun and the kid gets in the truck and they take off,” said an eyewitness.
Moore said he was dragged deep into the woods, where a sock was put in his mouth, his hands and feet were bound with duct tape, and his abductor tied him to a tree. Remarkably, Moore managed to escape by using a safety pin that he’d hidden in his mouth.
Police say that Beltran planned to hold Moore for ransom and that he surrendered because he didn’t want to be housed in a Mexican jail. He will be charged with kidnapping.

Raymundo Pineda was found guilty of driving while impaired, hit-and-run and second-degree murder for the death of Jasmine Lawrence in April 2005.
Prosecutors said Pineda was driving drunk on Independence Boulevard when he hit Lawrence’s car and didn’t stop to help the injured woman.
BALTIMORE - Haji Subandi, 69, a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia, pleaded guilty today to conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, two counts of money laundering and attempted exportation of arms and munitions, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
It was around 9pm last night when police pulled a man over for suspected drunk driving. While talking with police, he mentioned he had just left a cockfight.
Police went to check his story out and when they got there, they found hundreds of people who immediately started running. Many of them jumped fences and ran into people’s houses to try to get away.
Altogether, Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents arrested close to 40 undocumented immigrants. Investigators found a stack of dead roosters and several that were still in cages.
Former member of U.S. Navy arrested in Arizona on terrorism and espionage charges
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Hassan Abujihaad, formerly known as Paul R. Hall, 31, was arrested Wednesday in Phoenix on federal criminal charges filed by U.S. Attorney Kevin J. O’Connor for the District of Connecticut. The criminal complaint alleges that, in 2001, Abujihaad provided material support or resources, knowing or intending that they were to be used in preparation for, or in carrying out, a conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2339A. The complaint also charges that Abujihaad delivered, communicated, transmitted or caused the delivery, communication or transmission of classified information relating to the national defense to persons not entitled to receive it, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 793(d).
LPD: Illegal alien faked thousands of IDs
An illegal immigrant is in jail after allegedly falsifying thousands of immigration and Social Security cards in Jones County. And one of the identities stolen might have been yours.
Jose Vega faces 40 criminal charges for the misuse of Social Security cards. Authorities say about six months ago people from all over the U.S. starting calling to say that the IRS was reporting they had income from companies in Laurel.
“When we started to track a lot of that down we were able to discover that this individual was manufacturing various forms of identification,” says Laurel police investigator Michael Reaves.
Identification such as Social Security cards, passports, and resident alien cards. Several of these cards could have some Mississippi residents sitting on edge.
That is just the tip of the iceberg because most of our liberal media won’t mention the immigration status of the criminals among us. And while all of this is going on, it seems that we will be enduring more arrogant rallies full of demands from the illegal aliens and their supporters on May 1, 2007. They are calling it The Great American Boycott II.
We are also seeing the revenge of Elvira Arellano this week as the churches in major Americans cities say, City Churches Plan to Offer Sanctuary to Illegal Immigrants. You just had to see that one coming.
And our President is still in denial during his trip to South America according to CNN:
Bush said he’s optimistic that an immigration bill would get through Congress this year.
“I think we can find a rational way forward, somewhere in between automatic citizenship and kicking people out of the country,” he said. “We are a nation of law and therefore if we can change the law for the better, we ought to do so.”
Change the law for the better? Is it just me, or does it seem that Bush is merely parroting former Mexican President Vicente Fox who stated in a PBS interview on September 7, 2001:
“So if it is illegal what happens now; let’s recognize it. Let’s recognize that it’s illegal, and let’s legalize it.”
In truth, the old joke that Bush uses Karl Rove’s brain may now be dispelled. He is using the gray matter of Vicente Fox these days.
But why? If you want to see what I consider to be the best explanation of what is behind President Bush’s freakishly cozy relationship with Mexico, be sure to read Glenn Beck’s post, Amnesty for Oil. Beck continually ‘connects the dots’. It’s not about what is best for America. It’s all about money. And it very well could be all about oil as well as cheap labor.
Has the cost of cheap labor become too high for the American citizens to bear? Not only do we pay dearly with our tax dollars, we also pay daily with our lives. Every single day Americans are murdered by people that should not be in our country. Every single day Americans are molested, raped, robbed, and beaten by people that should not be in our country. Every single day Americans lose their jobs and their identities by people that should not be in our country. When will it be enough? When will our elected officials notice the price WE are paying?
Average Americans are seething, but none so much as those who have lost loved ones at the hands of illegal aliens.
The 9/11 families have put our elected officials on notice in their post, 9/11 Families Remind Us of the Bitter Fruits of Amnesty, saying:
The press release by 9/11 Families for a Secure America stated : “The members of 9/11 Families for a Secure America remind their fellow Americans that after Congress gave amnesty to 3,000,000 illegal aliens in 1986, several of the illegals who were allowed to remain in the U.S.A. committed terrorist acts afterward. One of those amnestied illegals was the ringleader in the attempt to topple the World Trade Center in 1993 … Therefore, the record proves that amnesty for illegals results in the deaths of Americans”.
They also add a stern warning to any who may vote for amnesty:
“If an amnesty for illegals is passed and you vote for it, whenever acts of violence are committed in your district or state by illegals who benefit from amnesty, 9/11 FSA members will go to your district to inform your constituents that your vote for amnesty allowed that crime to occur and that you are, in part, guilty for the injury done.” - The Families of the Victims of September 11, 2001
You just can’t get any clearer than that.
