ACLU Signs Add to Washington State's Immigration Storm

Oh my Frigging Gawd!

From Fox News:

An immigration showdown is brewing on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, where simmering tensions and borderline hostility have fueled a turf war between the local community and the Border Patrol agents assigned to protect it.

Now the American Civil Liberties Union has jumped into the ring and upped the ante, rolling out a campaign that will install signs inside buses informing riders of their rights — to ignore Border Patrol agents.

The signs, entitled, "YOUR RIGHTS with border patrol agents on this bus," makes three points:

• If you're a U.S. citizen, you don't have to prove it.
• If you're not a U.S. citizen and are 18 or older, you must show your immigration papers to federal agents.
• Everyone has the right to remain silent.

The campaign, which could start as early as next week, is the latest in a series of expanding grassroots efforts aimed at curbing the expansion of Border Patrol forces and the powers of its agents.

Democrats Put Global Warming Rider In Spending Bill

What in the name that is all Holy NOT IN THIS BILL!!! huuuuuuuuuuuh. Ok, I'm alright now.

From Newsmax:

Congressional Democrats have inserted a “dangerous” rider into an appropriations bill that would allow the Department of Interior to regulate greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S., according to a release from Republicans on the House Committee on Natural Resources.

The rider to the Fiscal Year 2009 Omnibus Appropriations bill, Section 429, enables the Interior Department to withdraw two Endangered Species Act rules within 60 days of enactment.

“This would allow the Obama Administration to change rules without any public notice or public comment period, and threatens efforts to create new jobs in an already strapped economy,” the release states.

One rule exempts thousands of federal activities, including those that generate greenhouse gases, from review under the Endangered Species Act by allowing federal agencies to determine themselves whether their actions are likely to adversely affect endangered species, and whether they need scientific review, according to the Center for Biological Diversity.

The second rule exempts greenhouse gas emissions and oil development, the two leading threats to polar bears, from regulation under the Act.

“If the rules are withdrawn, then any project that increases carbon dioxide or any greenhouse gas emissions could have to consult with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service on mitigation against the potential impacts on global warming and harming of the polar bear, or else face potential lawsuits,” the committee’s statement asserts.

I guess the uncooperative husband/talk radio show host and I will be arrested and hauled off of our mountain because we run a gas generator 18 hours a day. I know I'm hysterical right? Well, not so much. In the "peoples republic of California" they are cutting off all or much of the water supply to many farms, under the auspice that they must save certain species of fish. FISH. Kill the fish, eat the fish, screw the fish! Look the bottom line is that God, yes God,God,God,(all you atheists can leave the room now) has put everything on this earth here for a purpose. He (I did say He) instilled the time bomb of NATURAL SELECTION. So let it be written, so let be said.

Americans reach for small luxuries amid sour economy

I love the title. Why you ask? because it implies what I have thought about for the past 15-20 yrs of my life. Why do Americans feel they have to have luxuries? I've have spent most of my life just getting what I need.
Now "need" is relevant. Do I need a computer? In this day and age our industry and government and technology says, "yes,Yes you do". I for one live in a rural area, and without the Internet, I couldn't get alot of the stuff I needed to live here. Yes, back in the day I would travel miles and miles to get it. But I don't have to now. Catch 22. But do I need the monster of all monster big, humugis screen TV? No. Do I even need a TV in every room of my house. NO. Do my kids need every toy that first comes out known to man. No.
Unfortunately, our great nation is no longer a nation of creators, we are a nation of consumers. Something that cannot sustain itself only devour itself. But read on Mac Beth and you decide.

From USA Today:

SAN FRANCISCO — As it does for many these days, life feels a bit on the bleak side for Leanne Falise. Soaring heating bills have managed to pick off what luxuries she and her husband used to regularly enjoy, from dinners out to vacations.

But relief — however temporary — is on the way. She eyes a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates at the factory store here near the Bay, then smiles.

"This right here is a little luxury, something I can spoil myself with," says Falise, an administrative assistant at an equipment-leasing company outside Pittsburgh, who is in town to help her daughter move. "Without this, I don't have much to look forward to these days."

The ailing economy is threatening to permanently kill the national buzz. The hundreds of thousands who have been laid off of late certainly have no intention of living the high life, and neither do those clinging to employment with shredded fingernails. Second homes, exotic getaways and French Champagne seem at best imprudent, at worst vulgar. What to do?

Think small, like Casey Elliott. She's here picking up a tin of gourmet hot chocolate mix for her kids, a small but welcome treat at a time when her husband is out of work. "We're trying to do simple things, like going for family walks and playing games," she says.

From food to fashion, potions to pets, entertainment to e-commerce, Americans are finding modest ways to both buoy their spirits and maintain, even in cut-rate form, a version of those old free-spending days.

Brittany Curran, 22, a Baltimore native now in the Coast Guard, says tough times means slashing cable TV channels at her onshore home. But she still lets herself splurge on 99-cent music downloads about a dozen times a month. "I still want to be entertained, but in smaller ways," she says. "So maybe no $200 Wicked (theater) tickets, but a trip to a comedy club is OK."

As part of "full disclosure" Brian and I have had specialty wines and food in our house many times; and just said "enough" and stopped. It's hard to do, but possible. Well we're broke now; so easy. "I feel your pain." :) :) :)

Clinton Urges China to Continue Investment in U.S. Economy

Not only is it disturbing that a Clinton chooses to visit Asia, (i.e.China!!)
as their first choice as an Obama cabinet member. Yea, I know she is Secretary of State. Duhhhh. I can't believe I have to talk about the Cintonnnn's, will they ever go away? argggg. See now they made me a pirate. :) Does anyone, out there, out there, remember the secrets that were leaked to China during Billy Boy's reign of terror? What about the Air Force fighter jets that the Chinese still have in their commie little hands?

From Fox News:

BEIJING - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is urging China to continue investing in United States Treasury bonds and said Sunday that country's continued investment in the U.S. is a recognition that the two countries depend on each other.

"I certainly do think that the Chinese government and central bank are making a smart decision by continuing to invest in treasury bonds," she said during an interview with the show "One on One." "It's a safe investment. The United States has a well-deserved financial reputation."

In order to boost the economy, the U.S has to incur more debt, she said. "It would not be in China's interest if we were unable to get our economy moving," Clinton said. "So by continuing to support American Treasury instruments, the Chinese are recognizing our interconnection. We are truly going to rise or fall together. We are in the same boat and, thankfully, we are rowing in the same direction.

"Our economies are so intertwined, the Chinese know that to start exporting again to their biggest market, namely the United States the United States has to take some very drastic measures with this stimulus package, which means we have to incur more debt."

China is not our Friends......

Catholic Group Petitions Pope to Excommunicate Nancy Pelosi

Frankly, I'd like the "sweeper of the House" to be thrown out of alot of things. I don't understand how she even became who she is and how she got into power. Oh yea, Idiots Voted Her In!!! Ok I'm better now :).

From CNSNews:

Human Life International (HLI), a Catholic pro-life group based in Front Royal, Va., had a letter from its Rome office delivered to the Vatican this week, in which it called upon Pope Benedict XVI to “formally excommunicate” from the Catholic Church House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). The pope met with Pelosi on Wednesday.

Experts in Canon Law, the rules that govern the Catholic Church, said this action is not unprecedented and noted that similar appeals for excommunication were made against Catholic judges who were enforcing racially discriminatory laws during the civil rights era. They also said that regular Catholics have a right to petition their pastors, bishops, and the pope in matters that pertain to the well-being of the church.

“The reason we called for the pope is because so many people have called on the bishops in the jurisdictions she lives in, who could possibly do it—and they won’t,” HLI President Rev. Thomas Euteneur told CNSNews.com. Pelosi has a home in the archdiocese of San Francisco, headed by Archbishop George Niederauer, and works in Washington, D.C., the archdiocese overseen by Archbishop Donald Wuerl.

Pelosi describes herself as “pro-choice,” and has voted for laws that promote abortion and artificial contraception, both of which are contrary to church teaching. For example, she voted against banning partial-birth abortion, against the Hyde Amendment, which prohibited federal funding of abortion in most circumstances, and against the Mexico City policy, which denied U.S. tax dollars to organizations that perform or promote abortion abroad. She also voted against a complete ban on human cloning and in favor of using tax dollars for research that kills human embryos

Savage goes on offense in 'Fairness Doctrine' battle

From WND:

Talk radio icon Michael Savage is joining forces with a Michigan-based civil rights advocacy organization to protect free speech by fighting the return of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine."

"A regulation of speech motivated by nothing more than a desire to silence political opposition on controversial issues of public interest is the purest example of a law abridging the freedom of speech," said Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center.

"Such action is the hallmark of totalitarian governments, not a free society," he said.

The Fairness Doctrine was abandoned in 1987, but leading Democrats increasingly have called for its return.

Now before everyone "jumps" on his case about "jumping the gun" on this issue, ya have to step back and ask yourself,"do you trust the elected cockroaches?"

Bill Gates vs GM

Sorry folks but I don't have a resource for this one. My sister sent it to me, thanks sis, :). So I don't know if this is true or not, but I found it to be very funny. I hope you do too.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer
industry with the auto industry and stated,

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving
$25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:
If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........ Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway y for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the e door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

heh,heh,heh.

Richard Belzer Unloads a ‘Heil Hannity’ Salute on Fox News

The Left Lame Stream Media is going new, new, bananas!

From NewsBusters:

Sean Hannity invited radical-left actor Richard Belzer to his "Great American Panel" on February 13, and Belzer was hardly returning the honor. After Belzer tried to play professor and suggest that Reaganism was Hobbesian and "antitheticallly opposed" to John Locke and Jefferson, he raised his hand to interrupt, and then decided to offer his other arm in a "Heil Hannity" salute.

Then there's this:

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and CNN’s Rick Sanchez both poked fun of Fox News personality Sean Hannity for his on-air commercials for Stanford Coins and Bullion, which is part of the Stanford Financial Group led by Robert Allen Stanford, who has been in the news recently due to charges of fraud. It was the Huffington Post on Wednesday that pointed out the talk show host’s spots for Stanford. Olbermann named Hannity his “Worst Person in the World” on Thursday evening for the radio spots for Stanford.

Now, full disclosure; I listen to Mr. Hannity everyday. He is the nicest conservative talk show host on the air, bar none. Heck my husband is a million times meaner on our little conservative internet radio show then Mr. Hannity could ever be and these wackjob libs are attacking him? People, you voted for lunatic left wing socialist commie bastards and put them in power, which gave the left lame stream media the green light to go nuts.

Tourists Flee French Caribbean as Protests Grow More Violent

Well it's official we are going the way of France;

From Fox News:

BASSE-TERRE, Guadeloupe — Tourists stuck at hotels as violent protests swept this Caribbean island began flying out on Thursday after police pulled down barricades on roads leading to the airport following a third night of rioting.

What are they protesting, you ask?

Strikers in Guadeloupe and nearby Martinique are demanding a euro200 ($250) monthly raise for low-paid workers who now make roughly euro900 ($1,130) a month.

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said Thursday a "a very significant pay raise, in particular for the lower earners," is now on the table in negotiations between employers and striking workers and President Nicolas Sarkozy later the increase might be exempted from taxes.

Sarkozy called the situation on the islands a "crisis," saying it had its "roots in the fact that for years, France's overseas populations were not told the truth because it was thought we could fix everything through a benevolent paternalism."

Sarkozy seemed to imply that his predecessors preferred to give handouts to overseas regions instead of confronting fundamental flaws in the island economies.

Ah Socialism at its finest. Are you all ready for the future of the USA after the Dems are through with it? Huh are you, are you?

Dear Mr. President: Kids Share Hopes for Obama in New Book

Oh My Lord, Pres. Washington and Lincoln would be so proud. Now, the entire time that the 2nd Bushes were in office no one on the internet or in the lame stream media gave kudos to Laura Bush for making it her mission to reach out to the kids. Or for GW's effort to try and make our kids smarter for the good of the Republic and the future of our country by trying to give parents a choice of schools. Noooo, only the elected King Obama can help and care for our children. Read on MacBeth.

From Fox News:

NEW YORK -- End war, forever. Make the planet greener. Please help my dad find work. Make it rain candy!

Thousands of kids detailed their hopes and expectations for President Barack Obama in letters and drawings as part of a worldwide project, with 150 chosen for a free e-book being released on Presidents Day.

Most had tall orders for the new guy in the White House.

Anthony Pape, 10, of Du Bois, Pa., offered: "I hope that we will have no war ever again. I mean why are we fighting why can't we all be friends."

Fellow 10-year-old Sasha Townsend of Soquel, Calif., had a similar request, and then some.

"I would appreciate it if you would try to make this a greener planet and try to bring home the troops and end the war," the fifth-grader wrote. "I am very luckey because I am not part of a military family, but it saddens me to hear about all the people who die in Iraque and know that somewhere In the world people are greiving over a lost family member."

Seven-year-old Aaron Van Blerkom's letter was simpler -- but no less problematic.
"Dear Mr. Obama," the Pasadena, Calif., first-grader began, "Please Make it rain candy!"

The "Dear Mr. President" project was a joint effort between the National Education Association and kidthing.com, which is putting out the book for use with its downloadable media player. A special hardcopy edition of the book will be sent to the White House for Obama, who has done wonders to bring the office of the presidency to life for young people.

The letters were written in January amid Obama-mania at inauguration time as schools scrambled to bus kids to special viewing events and come up with computer screens and TVs for them to watch in classrooms and auditoriums.
I reported, you decide. :)

"Finally... A Solution that Helps Main Street"

From SPC Marketing Company:

End Foreclosures.
Empower Individual Homeowners.
Turn "Toxic" Assets Into Valued Assets.

"The Mortgage Equity-Equalization Program"

West Islip, NY – A bold new program to end the mortgage foreclosure crisis was announced today. The "Mortgage Equity-Equalization Program" will end the foreclosure crisis by giving individual homeowners "credits" that are equal to the lost value of their real estate.

Declining real estate values has been the primary cause of the financial meltdown. If we could return home values to what they were three years ago, the foreclosure crisis would end.

"That's exactly what the 'Mortgage Equity-Equalization Program' does", says program author Stephen Flanagan. "This plan offers financially-strapped homeowners the help they need to keep their homes. Let's stop the bailout madness and take action now to turn 'troubled assets' into 'valued assets.'"

Here's the Solution:

1) Use a portion of the $350 billion left from the original TARP package passed in October. No additional money is required.

2) Give homeowners with sub-prime mortgages a "credit" that is equal to the percentage decrease in home values over the last three years (around 20%). For example: Let's say you bought a $200,000 home three years ago. Home values nationally have declined 20% making the current value of your home $160,000. The government would take money from the $350 billion bailout and present you with a voucher worth $40,000. This will "equalize" the equity in your home. You will now have $160,000 in equity on your house and $40,000 in equity from the government. This puts the homeowner's equity position back where it was before the housing crisis happened. *

3) Homeowners would then go to their Mortgage holder with the voucher and use the "cash" value to reduce the principal balance on their mortgage. The Bank will be permitted to use this "cash" under the conditions that they modify the terms of the loan to reflect a $40,000 drop in principal amount AND modify the terms to reflect the current mortgage market. At an average of $11 per $1000 in mortgage savings, that $40,000 credit will reduce the monthly cost of that loan by $440.00.

4) After modification, banks would cash in these vouchers with the Federal Government, thus "infusing" much needed cash into the banking system. Note that the SAME $40,000 has now been used to improve the bank's cash position and improve the Homeowner's personal financial circumstances.

5) Homeowners now will hold a mortgage debt that reflects current home values, thus removing most instances of mortgages with balances that exceed home value (a prime cause of default and foreclosure). This program will "stabilize" the housing market by vastly reducing foreclosures. It also removes the need for the government to "guarantee" toxic assets because toxic assets will become viable assets.

6) The homeowner will now have an extra $400 per month to spend on other things. This translates into a $4800 per year "stimulus" to the economy by this one homeowner.

7) Multiply this by millions of households and you've taken care of "Main Street" AND "Wall Street". Note that some estimates show that more than two million homes are in danger of foreclosure. This program should be able to prevent most of these foreclosures. Combine this will government-backed FHA or other loan programs, and the housing crisis will be over.

8) The program will also help homeowners who want to sell their homes, but the sale price does not cover the mortgage balance. That homeowner can now sell that house for the market price of $160,000 and still be able to pay off his $200,000 mortgage using the $40,000 equity equalization credit.
Though the Feds will try and attach all kinds of strings to this, it remains a simple and viable solution to TWO MAJOR problems: foreclosures and a sagging economy.

Imagine the Federal Government killing two birds with one stone. It would be master stroke.

Whether the homeowner wants to keep the house or sell the house, this program will reduce the number of forecloses and will infuse cash into the mortgage banking industry AND the general economy.

This program empowers INDIVIDUALS BY LETTING them DECIDE if they want to renegotiate and stay in their homes or sell their home. Homeowners will be free to make the deal that's best for them. The program will be SAFE for taxpayers because only a bank can cash in a voucher and then only if the Bank has made the terms of the renegotiated loan viable for both homeowner and financial institution. Of course, homeowners will still have to "re-qualify" for their loan modification. But the lower monthly costs on a modified loan will help them qualify easier.

There are many details regarding this proposal that will need to be worked out, but the basic concept is surely one that deserves the attention of Washington.

There are other aspects of the proposal that are designed to insure that such a massive breakdown in the U.S. financial system never happens again.

The first requirement would be the repeal of "toxic" portions of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). This piece of legislation is directly responsible for the mortgage crisis because it requires banking institutions to make bad loans.

The second requirement would be the "break-up" of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Like the "trust busters" did to railroads and phone companies in the past, we must "break-up" Fannie and Freddie. A half dozen or so regional versions of these companies would insure that if one goes bad, it does not bring down the whole economy.

"At a time when trillions of dollars are flowing from Washington to correct the economy," Flanagan states, "I have seen nothing to help millions of hard-working homeowners. Let's get the Mortgage Equity-Equalization Program on the Congressional Agenda and let's start helping Americans hold on to the American dream".

FX's 'Rescue Me' Will Push 9/11 'Inside Job' Conspiracy

Yes, the Dems are in power; Our President is a cliff dweller; and Hollywood is going to go "new, new, Bananas"!!! Yea, let the party begin:)

From Newsbusters.org:

“A coming episode of the acclaimed FX drama Rescue Me will tackle what may sound like a far-fetched plot line: that the attacks of Sept. 11 were an 'inside job,'” Brian Stelter reported in the New York Times, noting the ludicrous plot “may represent the first fictional presentation of 9/11 conspiracy theories by a mainstream media company (FX is operated by the News Corporation).”

Yes, News Corp owns Fox News; so all ya reading this need to know that the Internet is the last bastion of truth. But ya still have to swift through the menutia, again it's up to "we the people." Are you up to it?

Australian Wildfires Could Fuel 'Forest Jihad' Terrorists, Experts Say

Hey folks, I do not in any way shape or form put anything past the Jihad Muslim nutjobs!!!! Do you-Infadelllsss! (Hat Tip to Jeff Dunham and his puppets)

From foxnews:

Firefighters and homeowners aren't the only ones keenly watching Australia's massive wildfires, responsible for killing at least 173 people in the southern part of the continent.

Terrorism experts suspect Muslim extremists are watching closely, too — and taking note of the devastation.

While Australian authorities have revealed no evidence linking the wildfires to extremists, terrorism experts say the large death toll, the huge swath of destruction and the massive financial blow to the country are proving to Islamic terrorists that arson can be a highly effective — and simple — tool of holy war

So now governments across our world are giving these nutjobs credibility. I love the internet, I use the internet. But so do the nutjobs.

If extremists did have had a hand in the wildfires, Emerson said, it would be "very disturbing."

"It would indicate a new area of jihadist attacks, that is, attacking natural resources," he said. "And given the devastation of these fires, it certainly could instill new terror ideas in other areas like the food supply chain or in the environmental realm."

All these nutjobs need is fear as a tool to control us folks; and they just got it. Thank you powers that be, I love how ya got our backs.

2 Mice Carrying Plague Disappear From New Jersey Lab, FBI Says No Public Health Risk

Yea, this makes me feel so much better because the FBI says nothing is wrong.

From the AP:

TRENTON, N.J. — The frozen remains of two mice injected with the organism that causes plague have not been accounted for seven weeks after being discovered missing at a University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey facility in Newark, the university said Friday.

The FBI investigated and determined there was no risk to public health or any indication of the terrorist link.

It wasn't the first time plague-infected mice have disappeared from the New Jersey facility. Four years ago, in September 2005, three live mice infected with bubonic plague bacteria disappeared from various cages. Officials later said they believed the rodents had died.

UMDNJ's Public Health Research Institute issued a four-paragraph statement about the December incident late Friday saying it believes the red hazardous waste bag containing the dead mice was sterilized and incinerated along with another bag.

"Although the mice in the missing bag were used in vaccine experiments involving the bacteria Yersinia pestis, the organism that causes plague, UMDNJ has no reason to believe that this situation poses a risk to the safety or health of UMDNJ staff or the community at large," the university said in its prepared statement.

Can we all hold hands and sing "Kumbya"now.

Bryan Travers, a spokesman for the FBI office in Newark, told The Star-Ledger of Newark that the FBI determined there was "no nexus to terrorism or risk to public health."

Why in the name of all things holy are we still messing with the Plague? Don't we know all we need to know about this deadly disease? And just as an aside, your tax payer dollars probably paid for the grant that keeps this research going.

United Nations' threat: No more parental rights

From WND:

A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families' religion is on America's doorstep, a legal expert warns.

Michael Farris of Purcellville, Va., is president of ParentalRights.org, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association and chancellor of Patrick Henry College. He told WND that under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, or CRC, every decision a parent makes can be reviewed by the government to determine whether it is in the child's best interest.

"It's definitely on our doorstep," he said. "The left wants to make the Obama-Clinton era permanent. Treaties are a way to make it as permanent as stuff gets. It is very difficult to extract yourself from a treaty once you begin it. If they can put all of their left-wing socialist policies into treaty form, we're stuck with it even if they lose the next election."

The 1990s-era document was ratified quickly by 193 nations worldwide, but not the United States or Somalia. In Somalia, there was then no recognized government to do the formal recognition, and in the United States there's been opposition to its power. Countries that ratify the treaty are bound to it by international law.

Although signed by Madeleine Albright, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., on Feb. 16, 1995, the U.S. Senate never ratified the treaty, largely because of conservatives' efforts to point out it would create that list of rights which primarily would be enforced against parents.

We as US citizens are yet again under attack by the rest of the world. First they want to take our children from us, then our guns, then our property. Does “International Peace Parks” ring a bell. There are three of them in the US right now that I know of. You people voted for the Dems, and we are doomed. There is no one in this administration that will care about standing up to the United Nations. NO ONE.

Judge Allows Ban of Book Depicting Happy Cuban Communist Children

Now Toto, is this a good ban or a bad ban!!!

From the AP:

ATLANTA — Miami school officials can remove from library shelves a book about Cuba that depicts smiling children in communist uniforms but avoids mention of problems in the country, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the Miami-Dade County School District wouldn't be infringing freedom of speech rights by removing 49 copies of "Vamos a Cuba" and its English-language version, "A Visit to Cuba," from its libraries. The board has argued that the books, for children ages 5 to 8, present an inaccurate view of life in Cuba.

The board voted to remove the book in 2006 after a parent who was a former political prisoner in Cuba complained. A federal judge in Miami later ruled that the board should add books of different perspectives instead of removing offending titles.
However, the panel of the 11th Circuit sided with the school board in a 2-1 ruling.

I am against censorship in all of it's forms but when our tax payer money is involved don't "we the people" have a say in what crap is forced down our children's throats? I know I keep posting with questions and it must be annoying to some, but shouldn't we be asking questions now?
