Patrick fends off critics of 9/11 speech

From the Boston Globe:

Governor Deval Patrick tried yesterday to fend off criticism he has received over his Sept. 11 memorial service speech, when he said the terrorist attacks six years ago resulted in part from "a failure of human understanding."

"Frankly, I was taught in my church that all violent attack is a failure of human understanding," he said during an appearance on WTKK-FM radio yesterday. "The families, in the time I spent with them that day after the ceremony, were just absolutely lovely and appreciative."

What church do you belong to? We really need to know as a public service warning. You sir are an idiot, a failure of human understanding... I understand them just fine, they hate the U.S. and western culture you pip squeak!

Presiding over the state's memorial ceremonies for the first time, Patrick on Tuesday morning called the events of Sept. 11, 2001, "a mean and nasty and bitter attack on the United States.

"But it was also about the failure of human beings to understand each other and to learn to love each other," he said. "It seems to me that lesson [of] that morning is something that we must carry with us every day."

No, what we must carry with us is that these people will stop at nothing to bring us down; nothing. And there is nothing short of wiping them out that will suffice.

Dad? Why Are We At War?

I received this in an email and thought it was just too powerful not
to publish. On this anniversary of 9/11 I thought this was a perfect
post.

People don't understand why we had to go to war in Iraq, well here is their answer.

The other day, my nine year old son wanted to know why we were at
war... My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband
and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to
serve and defend our country again today. I knew that my husband would
give him a good explanation.

My husband thought for a few minutes and then told my son to go stand in our front living room window.

He said, "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?"

"I see trees and cars and our neighbors' houses," he replied.

"OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush."

Our son giggled and said, "OK."

"Now, son, I want you to look out the window and pretend that every
house and yard on this block is a different country," my husband said.

"OK Dad, I'm pretending."

"Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend
you see Saddam come out of his house with his wife, he has her by the
hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her
in the face, he throws her on the ground, then he starts to kick her to
death. Their children run out and are afraid to stop him, they are
screaming and crying, they are watching this but do nothing because
they are kids and they are afraid of their father. You see all of this,
son.... what do you do?"

"Dad?"

"What do you do, son?"

"I'd call the police, Dad."

"OK. Pretend that the police are the United Nations. They take your
call. They listen to what you know and saw but they refuse to help.
What do you do then, son?"

"Dad....... but the police are supposed to help!" My son starts to whine.

"They don't want to, son, because they say that it is not their
place or your place to get involved and that you should stay out of
it," my husband says.

"But, Dad... he killed her!!" My son exclaims.

"I know he did... but the police tell you to stay out of it. Now I
want you to look out that window and pretend you see our neighbor who
you're pretending is Saddam turn around and do the same thing to his
children."

"Daddy... he kills them?"

"Yes, son, he does. What do you do?"

"Well, if the police don't want to help, I will go and ask my next door neighbor to help me stop him," our son says.

"Son, our next door neighbor sees what is happening and refuses to
get involved as well. He refuses to open the door and help you stop
him," my husband says.

"But Dad, I NEED help!!! I can't stop him by myself!!"

"WHAT DO YOU DO, SON?" Our sons starts to cry.

"OK, no one wants to help you, the man across the street saw you ask
for help and saw that no one would help you stop him. He stands taller
and puffs out his chest. Guess what he does next, son?"

"What, Daddy?"

"He walks across the street to the old lady's house and breaks down
her door and drags her out, steals all her stuff and sets her house on
fire and then... he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing in
the window and laughs at you. WHAT DO YOU DO?"

"Daddy...."

"WHAT DO YOU DO?" Our son is crying and he looks down and he whispers, "I'd close the blinds, Daddy."

My husband looks at our son with tears in his eyes and asks him. "Why?"

"Because, Daddy... the police are supposed to help people who need
them... and they won't help... You always said neighbors are supposed
to HELP neighbors, but they won't help either... they won't help me
stop him...

I'm afraid.... I can't do it by myself, Daddy ...... I can't look
out my window and just watch him do all these terrible things and and
do nothing... so ..... I'm just going to close the blinds ... so

I can't see what he's doing, and I'm going to pretend that it is not happening."

I start to cry. My husband looks at our nine year old son standing
in the window, looking pitiful and ashamed at his answers to my
husband's questions.

He says.... "Son....."

"Yes, Daddy?"

"Open the blinds, because that man...... he's at your front door... "WHAT DO YOU DO?"

My son looks at his father, anger and defiance in his eyes. He balls
up his tiny fists and looks is father square in the eyes, and without
hesitation he says, "I DEFEND MY FAMILY DAD!!! I'M NOT GONNA LET HIM
HURT MOMMY OR MY SISTER, DAD!!! I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM DAD, I'M GONNA
FIGHT HIM!!!!!"

I see a tear roll down my husband's cheek and he grabs our son to
his chest and hugs him tight, and says.... "It's too late to fight him,
he's too strong, and he's already at YOUR front door, son... you should
have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife, his children, and the old
lady across the way.

You have to do what's right, even if you have to do it alone, before
it's too late," my husband whispers. "THAT scenario I just gave you is
WHY we are at war with Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil
happen, son, THAT is the greatest mistake; believing that the
atrocities in the world won't affect them. "YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO
DO WHAT IS RIGHT! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALONE! BE PROUD TO BE AN
AMERICAN! BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS!! SUPPORT THEM!!!

SUPPORT AMERICA SO THAT IN THE FUTURE OUR CHILDREN WILL NEVER HAVE TO CLOSE THEIR BLINDS..."

This should be printed in every newspaper and posted in every school
in America Of course, that won't happen, so we'll use the Internet. If
your blinds are closed, do nothing with this email. If they are open I
do not need to tell you what to do.

I Remember Joseph Marchbanks Jr. who lost his life on 9-11

I am proud to remember Joseph Marchbanks Jr. who was a Battalion
Chief in Harlem, but he preferred to be called a firefighter. A 22-year
veteran, Chief Marchbanks garnered four promotions by the time he died
at age 47, but "he wasn't one to brag," said his wife, Teresa.

Still, Chief Marchbanks had a lot to brag about.

A Bronx native, he qualified for the police force and the fire
department in the same week, he chose the latter, never looked back.

"He loved his job," said his friend (and stickball teammate) Frank McDonagh.

He lived in Nanuet, N.Y., with his wife, Teresa, and his children,
Lauren, 14, and Ryan, 8. "He had an extremely good sense of humor. He
held the family together, he was the hub," said his sister, Kathleen
Allison. She said he coached his daughter's softball team and was a
regular at all the soccer and baseball games his son played in.
Marchbanks' survivors include a twin brother in Boston. -- Bill Kaufman
(Newsday)

At the firehouse, he organized study groups to help others pass
tests for promotions. "He taught without you realizing you were
learning," said his friend and colleague, Lieutenant Kevin Guy.

Ray Joseph Marchbanks JR. was a firefighter originally assigned to
Engine Company 73 and later transferred "across the floor" into Ladder
42. His contagious smile was always present. Joe's willingness to help;
whether at a fire, a practical joke, or to benefit a brother who needed
him was also a constant that could be depended on. His love of, "The
Job", was evident in his good natured professionalism wherever he was.
He made his mark on the job everywhere he went as he was promoted to
Lieutenant, then to Captain and finally to Battalion Chief where he was
assigned to Battalion 12. Joe's memory will live on in the hearts and
minds of all the members of The House on Prospect Avenue in the Bronx.

A Memorial Service

was held on

October 26, 2001

It is very likely I worked with Chief Marchbanks when I worked in
Harlem as a Paramedic. I worked more than a few fires, so I am sure he
was there. FDNY are a great bunch of heroes and Chief Marchbanks made
them proud.

Let us take a moment on 9/11 to remember him and the others that lost their lives on that fateful day.

ID cards for illegals… the new San Francisco Treat!

From the San Francisco Chronicle: (found at The Drudge Report)

"San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano is drafting legislation to create a city identification card for immigrants unable to get traditional ID cards, a move likely to anger advocates of tougher immigration enforcement."

Later in the article we find:

"Ammiano said the impetus for the city cards came from the immigrant community, which asked for his help. Illegal immigrants who are victims or witnesses of crime often do not report the incident because they have no identification and fear deportation. Identification also is needed for many services, such as city health care.

San Francisco already has a sanctuary policy for immigrants, which means no city agency, including the police, will assist the federal government to deport people. So-called sanctuary cities have become a major issue among Republican presidential candidates."

Apparently San Fransicko officials believe the transgendered people have trouble with identification so they too would benefit from these cards. I am not sure where the difficulty for these people stems from… it isn't as if driver's license applications ask what the applicant chooses to wear. I suggest that this is to give the impression that these cards are not just about illegal aliens.

I suggest San Fran would be a great first step in withdrawing federal funds from sanctuary cities. That is unless their plan is to entice illegals to come and get the cards so they can fall into the trap and subsequent deportation that might be waiting for them. Wouldn't it be great if these cities cared for the law and expected the people within its city limits to be there legally?

La Raza Harasses and Intimidates 73 Year Old Woman

In events that are largely being ignored by the national media, Kansas City representatives of the racist group the National Council of La Raza (The Race for our English speaking friends) have been threatening to boycott Kansas City and pull their national convention from the city if the current mayor, Mark Funkhouser, does not remove 73 year old Francis Semler from the Kansas City Parks Board. Why the outrage over an elderly female member of a parks board? She happens to be a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp, a neo-neighborhood watch group that seeks to end illegal immigration by watching our southern and northern borders and reporting illegal immigration to the border patrol.

Mayor Funkhouser has vowed to stand behind Ms Semler as long as her personal beliefs on immigration policy do not affect her service to the parks board.

Growing frustrated with the Mayor’s refusal to bend to their blackmail La Raza spokesperson and organizer of Sons and Daughters of Immigrants of Greater Kansas City, Jessica Ayala joined 5 other pro-illegal immigration activists and appeared on the doorstep of 73 year old Ms Semler on the morning of September 5th. Startled by the pounding on her door and seeing the large group outside, she did what any elderly woman would do, she called police.

When questioned, the group claimed they were only there to hand deliver a note demanding she resign from her position on the parks board. Police have stated they will increase patrols to the neighborhood.

Their note follows:

Dear Mrs. Semler,

We are writing on behalf of the congregations, community organizations and concerned citizens listed below to respectfully ask you to immediately resign your position as member of the Kansas City Missouri Parks and Recreation Board. As a member of the Minutemen it is clear that you do not embrace or welcome the cultural diversity of all Kansas City residents. The KC metropolitan area should be allowed the opportunity to heal from the difficulties this appointment has caused and your resignation permits this healing process to begin.

Please contact us by August 31st to let us know that you have the best interests of all metropolitan area citizens in mind and that you will immediately resign from the parks board.

That's Canada, our northern neighbor. It does not bode well for them or the US, especially with talk of a North American Union and Security and Prosperity Partnership rumors.

Retro Reprint: Top Ten Reasons To Stop The ACLU

I wanted to put something up for Labor Day here to get some inspirations sparked. For a while my priorities have been shifted. I want to announce that we will be more active in our original cause and want to thank everyone that has supported us thus far. To get our blogburst reinvigorated, I thought I’d pull out a classic…one that explains why we started and what we are all about…Stop The ACLU was started on February 9th, 2004. We started with high hopes, and we realized we were facing a goliath. There were many reasons why we thought the ACLU needed to be countered, and they are numerous. We wanted to provide a way to inform the public of the ACLU’s agenda, as the MSM sugar coated it. We wanted to be a central database for people to gather, exchange ideas, and get actively involved in real ways of stopping them. It is a monumental task, exhausting, time consuming, and often frustrating. But it is a fight worth fighting.

We would be nothing without our supporters. To all of you, we appreciate the continued support. We have called you to action and you have answered.

There are many reasons to stop the ACLU. For this blogburst I decided to list my top ten list.

10. The ACLU was founded by Communist, with communist ideals, communist goals, and they continue to impose a Communist like agenda on America daily. The founder of the ACLU, Roger Baldwin stated clearly…

“My chief aversion is the system of greed, private profit, privilege and violence which makes up the control of the world today, and which has brought it to the tragic crisis of unprecedented hunger and unemployment�Therefore, I am for Socialism, disarmament and ultimately, for the abolishing of the State itself�I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.”

9. The ACLU does not believe in the Second Amendment.

ACLU POLICY �The ACLU agrees with the Supreme Court�s long-standing interpretation of the Second Amendment [as set forth in the 1939 case, U.S. v. Miller] that the individual�s right to bear arms applies only to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia. Except for lawful police and military purposes, the possession of weapons by individuals is not constitutionally protected. Therefore, there is no constitutional impediment to the regulation of firearms.�ACLU Policy #47

#8. Their outright hatred of the Boyscouts. They are currently doing everything in their power to hurt this organization. They attacked their free speech right to exclude gays, and are threatening schools, and fighting in court to get their charters shut down. They oppose the military supporting them, and will sue the pants off any school that attempts to charter them.

#7. The ACLU are pro-death. Not only is the ACLU Pro-abortion, it’s the ACLU’s top priority. It most definitely takes a backseat to free speech for the ACLU. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has fought against the free speech rights of those that oppose it. If it’s abortion or euthanasia, as long as it’s pro-death you can count on the ACLU to support it. The only exception to the ACLU’s pro-death stance, is if it is a convicted criminal; in this case they are against death.

#6. The ACLU advocate open borders. Not only have the ACLU opposed the Minutemen, a group who are simply exercising their freedom of speech, protesting and stepping up where the government is failing, but they have helped illegals cross the border.

#5. The ACLU is anti-Christian. The list is endless on this one. Under the guise of “separation of Church and State”, the ACLU have made a name for themselves by being rabidly anti-Christian. This is one area where they are most hypocritical. They oppose tax exemptions for all churches, but fight for them for Wiccans. They are against Christianity in school, but oddly remain silent as our children are taught to be Muslims. Whether its baby Jesus, ten commandments, or tiny crosses on county seals, the ACLU will be there to secularize America, and rewrite our history.

#4. The ACLU Opposes National Security. The ACLU have opposed almost every effort in the arena of national security. From the bird flu to bag searches, the ACLU have been against it. No matter what kind of search someone tries to do to protect people, the ACLU have proved they are against them across the board. Its kind of ironic that they don’t practice the principles they preach.

Take a walk into the NYCLU�s Manhattan headquarters - which it shares with other organizations - and you�ll find a sign warning visitors that all bags are subject to search.

#3. The ACLU Defend the enemy. They have a long history of this one. They defended the P.L.O. in 1985. They defended Quadafi in the 1980’s. And they continue today. They have told Gitmo detainees they have the right to remain silent, as in not talking to interrogators. One issue that really disturbs me is their refusal of funds from organizations such as the United Way that were concerned the money would be used to support terrorism.

In October of 2004, the ACLU turned down $1.15 million in funding from two of it�s most generous and loyal contributors, the Ford and Rockefeller foundations, saying new anti-terrorism restrictions demanded by the institutions make it unable to accept their funds.
�The Ford Foundation now bars recipients of its funds from engaging in any activity that �promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state.�
The Rockefeller Foundation�s provisions state that recipients of its funds may not �directly or indirectly engage in, promote, or support other organizations or individuals who engage in or promote terrorist activity.�

#2. The ACLU supports child porn distribution and child molesters like NAMBLA.

As legislative counsel for the ACLU in 1985, Barry Lynn told the U.S. Attorney General�s Commission on Pornography (of which Focus on the Family President Dr. James C. Dobson was a member) that child pornography was protected by the First Amendment. While production of child porn could be prevented by law, he argued, its distribution could not be.

There is no doubt the The ACLU are perverting the Constitution.

#1. The ACLU fulfills its agenda using my tax money. What more can I say on this one?

There are countless reasons the ACLU needs to be stopped. So don’t just stand by and complain, do something. Get involved. Here are some ways you can get involved to help us stop the ACLU.

Mexico Does Not End at its Border

President Felipe Calderon, president of a corrupt, third world, poverty ridden Mexico (and yes, I meant to say corrupt, third world, poverty ridden) gave a speech on Sunday that should be reprinted in every paper across the United States. America has more than a problem of illegal immigration on its hands, it has an invasion to deal with that is supported by Mexico City.

If this doesn't make your red American blood boil, then you are truly a liberal, uncaring about the future of our republic. Calderon had this to say:

• "Mexico does not end at its border."

Yes it does, that is why we are building a fence. Or does Mexico have territorial ambitions in the southwest?

• "We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers."

Last time I checked, the U.S. was a sovereign nation. Unlike your third world nation, whose laws stem from an authoritarian Spanish code, the U.S. has something called the rule of law. Your people have broken our laws. Applying our laws uniformly to your citizens, who have entered our nation illegally is neither persecution or mistreatment. By the way, is there any apology forthcoming for the fact that your citizens fill our jails and burden our social safety net?

• "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle... for their rights."

Please don't meddle in our internal affairs. Your citizens, here illegally, actually undermine our laws and our economy. Our corporations break our laws because your citizens exchange their labor for third world wages. Your citizens, here illegally, undermine our culture by setting up separate enclaves that refuse to assimlate. Your citizens, here illegally, undermine our society by overwhelming our schools and hospitals. Your citizens, here illegally, commit a large percentage of our nation's crimes and are filling are jails at an increasing rate.

•"Where there is a Mexican, there is a Mexico."

I can only interpret that statement one way. The migration of your citizens into the U.S. is a purposeful undertaking meant to reestablish Mexican sovereignty in the American Southwest.

To me, this speech by Calderon, is nothing more than declaration that Mexico is challenging American sovereignty in the border region. I have never been a "conspiracy theory" type person and I am not going off the deep end here. But if you read his speech, Calderon is challenging our sovereignty over our own territory.

After reading highlights from his speech, it is imperative that the United States reestablish control over the border. The border must be defined. It must be defended. Illegal aliens from Mexico must no longer find employment in the United States and as many illegal aliens as possible must be urged to return back home to Mexico. Otherwise, someday, we might wake up to actually find out that Mexico really doesn't end at its borders.

Finally, shouldn't the President, or at least the Secretary of State give a formal response to this Mexican assault on our national sovereignty? And if there is no response, shouldn't the American people demand that our leaders make such a response? Maybe it is time to contact our leaders again and ask them if they agree that "Mexico doesn't stop at its borders." Click on the image for contact numbers.

This speech really got underneath my skin. So, please, pass on what Calderon said. Maybe it will actually make some Americans mad. Mad enough to do something about it.

Credit card companies woo struggling mortgage-holders

It seems that certain credit card companies are targeting sub-prime customers, people with bad credit. If you are one of them do not be sucked into more debt!

As subprime borrowers began to default on their mortgages in rapidly growing numbers this year, credit card issuers increased their efforts to sign up such customers with tarnished financial histories, according to a market research firm.

Direct mail credit card offers to subprime customers in the United States jumped 41 percent in the first half of this year, compared with the first half in 2006, according to Mintel International Group. Direct mail offers targeted at customers with the best credit fell more than 13 percent.

This is incredibly irresponsible behavior for a lender. Not only the company but the people taking them up on these offers. folks a change in lifestyle is required to get your backsides out of debt! The goal in life should be to live debt free, this includes paying off your mortgages, not constantly refinancing your home! Let us go back to celebrating the mortgage burning, not perpetual debt and not actually owning your own home.

Expanding Social Medicine

Here comes more socialism for you...

The House and Senate last month passed bills to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Plan, or SCHIP, to families earning several times the national poverty level. A conference to hammer out differences in the two versions is expected to begin this week.

The White House has threatened to veto both bills because of their hefty costs.

The Senate bill would expand eligibility in the program to families earning up to three times the national poverty level — about $62,000 annually for a family of four. [snip]

Thousands of families who earn enough to pay a tax designed for wealthy Americans also would be eligible for government-subsidized health care for low-income children if proposals in the Democrat-controlled Congress become law.

In New York, almost 15,000 families who pay the alternative minimum tax would be covered under the healthcare program if the state's plan to increase eligibility to those earning four times the poverty level — $83,000 for a family of four — is approved, according to an analysis by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

Only our out of control Federal Govt. would consider people rich and poor at the same time. This is ludicrous, and itn is not the job of the Federal Govt. to provide healthcare for ANYONE. Not only will they raise your taxes to pay for this, but they will cut benefits to the elderly! Not that the Govt. Should be providing for the elderly either, again outside their Constitutional limits, but the elderly need healthcare more than children do. Let's face most children are healthy as an ox. These welfare programs just encourage parents to run to the doctor every time a kid has a runny nose. Then idiot doctors over prescribe antibiotics, which don't work on viruses, on our tax payer dime. The parent, if they had to pay for the doctor's visit, would think long and hard before running to the doctor for every cold. this also clogs up the doctor's offices and clinics making it difficult for those who really need to see a doctor.

All that said, they will be covering "children" up to the age of TWENTY FIVE!!! Plus, poor is 83,000.00?? this is national healthcare under the guise of caring for poor children, but not so poor as to qualify for medicare! Republicans voted for this?? This is why I am not a republican, they don't stand for their own platform of limited govt. this is socialism plain and simple.
