I'm sorry president Bush but I just can't agree with you.

As president of my country I respect you, but never will I agree with you when it comes to letting CRIMMIGRANTS into our country.

I cannot agree with any thing having to do with anyone coming to our country ILLEGALLY and being rewarded for it.

How can I agree with this?

These people come here and have no respect for us or our country our flag, or anything having to do with the RED, WHITE, AND BLUE, which is what we stand for!

They come here and TAKE, TAKE, AND TAKE!

You may have a passionate defense but so do I and so many others that love our country and want to protect it from becoming a 3rd world country.

Deeply concerned about our country losing it's soul?

GLYNCO, Ga. - President Bush offered a passionate defense of his plan to overhaul immigration laws Tuesday, casting the debate as a struggle over America's soul and its reputation as a welcoming nation.

In an exclusive interview with McClatchy Newspapers, Bush expressed confidence that the changes under consideration in Congress would dramatically reduce the flow of illegal immigrants while giving those who are already here a chance to join mainstream American society.

He suggested that critics of his plan are either uninformed about the details or fearful of immigration.

"I'm deeply concerned about America losing its soul.

Immigration has been the lifeblood of a lot of our country's history," Bush said. "I am worried that a backlash to newcomers would cause our country to lose its great capacity to assimilate newcomers."

Bush acknowledged that the proposed overhaul faces a difficult time in Congress, where it is under attack from both ends of the political spectrum.

Conservative critics contend that the plan amounts an amnesty program because illegal immigrants would be allowed to stay in the country after paying a $1,000 fine.

Some liberals complain that plans for a new temporary worker program are overly restrictive and would create a permanent underclass of foreign workers.

Bush underscored his commitment to the legislation during an interview on Air Force One as he traveled to Georgia to promote the immigration bill. He has teamed up in support of the bill with a bipartisan group of lawmakers that includes Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.

"I understand it's going to require a lot of work because this is a very emotional issue," he said. "There is an element of our society that is worried about two Americas.

My argument to them is: We've had this debate in our country for years.

"And yet our ability to welcome newcomers and the system's capacity to assimilate them has been one of the great powerful traditions of America.

It works, and it will work this time. People shouldn't fear our capacity to uphold our motto: E Pluribus Unum."

Addressing one of the most sensitive issues in the immigration measure, Bush expressed hope that the immigration changes would reduce the need for a fence along the U.S. border with Mexico.

The immigration bill requires the completion of at least 370 miles of fencing, along with other security measures, before any temporary worker program can go into effect, but does not specify how much of the border will ultimately be fenced. Congress approved legislation last year calling for 700 miles of fence.

The proposed fence has drawn protests in Bush's home state of Texas, where officials fear it will hinder commerce and cause environmental problems.

"The fence sends a clear signal that we're serious about enforcing the border," Bush said. "I presume we're not going to build fences where people don't want them."

RNC refuses to believe the obvious

In my small slice of the Republican Party (Republican Women of Williamson County), most of the women are very angry about the “Immigration” reform bill (s.1348). They are tired of the Republican National Party promoting what we consider to be RINO’s. Most of us stopped donating to “The Party” and only donate to the candidate. But I do believe we are the face of the Republican base who used to be the stalwart of under $50 donation support for Republicans and I might say the grunts on the ground for the Republican Party around election time.

From The Washington Times we read about the RNC firing or eliminating it’s phone banks attributing the reason to obsolete phone bank equipment. But the staffers cite different reasons:

Faced with an estimated 40 percent fall-off in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee’s chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff last week and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, the fired staffers told The Times.

snip…There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call “amnesty” for illegal aliens.

“Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue,” said the former employee.

Course the RNC states there is no decline in donations, but doesn’t say if that’s with the small dollar donors! Could be just another twist of words.

An Open Letter To President Bush from Violence Worker - I’m cross posting this letter since I think this expresses the thoughts of many of us out there:

Dear Mr. President,

Sir, I’ve supported you these past 6 years through thick and thin and I have to tell you, that’s is hard to do living in the People’s Republik of Washington. People hate you out here. They get a hangnail out here and they somehow figure out some way to blame you for it.

I’m afraid, sir, that you’ve lost my political support. You lost me, not over the war in Iraq or the greater war on terror, but on the domestic issue of immigration. Your remarks over this travesty of an immigration package were uncalled for. This is where we part ways. From this moment on, you can place me in that polling statistic that no longer supports you.

Mr. President, you can call it what you want. You can wrap it in nuance and political doublespeak, but this bill is amnesty and laden with more loopholes then the tax code.

Honestly sir, can you really look me in the eye and tell me that any bill that Teddy Kennedy supports is good for America?

We need to control our borders first! Then we need to work on dealing with those illegal immigrants that are already here. We need to address local government and their idiotic policies of “sanctuary”.

Mr. President, you and most liberals have it wrong. We are NOT a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of Americans. I’m not an immigrant, you aren’t an immigrant and most people here today are not immigrants. There was a time in our history when we could take in the world’s huddled masses, but times have changed.

So good-bye, Mr. President. If you had any political capital at all, it’s now gone. You are now truly a lame duck. Amnesty is your legacy.

Bush's remarks at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center on Tuesday:

"If you want to kill the bill, if you don't want to do what's right for America, you can pick one little aspect out of it, you can use it to frighten people."

Ya talkin to me? You must be talkin to me because I'm the only one here with 84% of the population that see's this bill for what it is, amnesty with some already existing enforcement measures thrown in. The bottom line is this bill won't reduce illegal immigration and it's cost, in many ways, is enormous.

How dare you and your treasonous allies like Linda Chavez and Lindsey Graham revile the American people for standing up for the rule of law, American sovereignty, culture and it's middle class? The American people elected you. What gives you politicians the right to scold and play us for stupid?

We see right through your attempt to wrap amnesty in the gift paper of enforcement. Once the gift is open, the paper is trashed and all we are left with is amnesty a la the failed 1986 amnesty legislation.

It disturbs you because despite your secrecy and deceit, we have come to comprehend that your amnesty bill will do nothing to save American jobs, bolster American wages, give relief to crowded, over burdened schools and a strained health care system.

You have the audacity to state that by opposing your treasonous legislation "we don't want to do what is right for America". It is you Arbusto, who is putting American interests last. It is you…

Your administration doesn't even have the decency to post up an accurate transcript of your speech. The day after you gave your speech I watched it on a Fox News video that I can no longer locate. You said that "those who oppose this bill haven't read it yet".

Your administration was quick to omit that from your transcript because they realized that if the statement were true, the entire Senate would have to be against the legislation.

Your deceit has it's signature all over this legislation as it was hatched in secrecy and hidden from excluded, American citizens. You further try to deceive us by incorporating into this joke of a bill, enforcement measures already available to us. Thereby giving us what we already have in exchange for amnesty for 20 million foreigners. You call that a compromise?

There is nothing of parity that you can offer the American people in exchange for amnesty. Exchanging amnesty is the same as exchanging the rule of law. Any country's survival is dependent upon maintaining the rule of law. There is nothing anyone could ever trade for this. The sooner you realize this, the faster we can work on actually fixing the problem.

Your failed Presidential term, which I am ashamed to admit I supported twice, cannot end quickly enough. The less time you have to destroy this country the better off America will be. You will go down in history as the worst President this country has ever had. With the likes of Jimmy Carter as a representative of our past Presidents, this is a super human accomplishment in itself.

If you and your pals don't like the tone of this message, too bad. Me and the 84% opposing the amnesty legislation don't like the way you are talking to us either. We also don't like what you are doing to us.

Now that we apparently have your ear, I will encourage every American to call, fax or write the White House and Congress to express opposition to this disastrous amnesty legislation.

Goverment Whistle Blowers Need Our Help!

I received this today Darlene is a trusted source and has been a guest on my radio show twice. We need to do what we can to help!

Dear Friends,

Again, I am asking for your help. As we sit here today and
may count our many blessings that have been bestowed upon
us, others are not so lucky. My fellow whistleblower John
Carman, who has no convictions, is still being incarcerated
without bail in the San Diego Federal Metropolitan Detention
Center on what I, and others, feel are “TRUMPED UP”
charges in order to shut him up. His elderly, wheelchair
bound parents have tried repeatedly to put up there home for
his bond, to no avail. At one hearing they had to endure
observing previously convicted, illegal aliens being
released on bail, while their son is denied the same.

John Carman has never been convicted a crime, and he is an
American Citizen. Further, he worked for both the Secret
Service and the U.S. Customs Service for many years and
maintained a security clearance for these positions. Now,
magically, he is being painted by the FBI as a flight risk
and a danger. Oh yes, this is the very same FBI that John
and I have repeatedly EXPOSED PUBLICALLY for not
investigating the corruption that we identified in my book
“BorderGate.” Morever, John had a web site entitled
“Customs Corruption” that was posted for years and
allowed easy access for frightened whistleblowers to
anonymously tell their stories without the fear of
retaliation that John and I and so many others have
experienced. In short, John has been a thorn in the
government’s side for way too long and when the news got
out that he was nearing completion of his tell all book
I’m sure this facilitated his fate with the San Diego FBI.

Please also note that the FBI’s case largely spins on the
testimony of a previously convicted, illegal alien. One of
the convictions of this witness was for - you’ll never
guess - LYING TO THE GOVERNMENT. Yet, the FBI will now
rely on his testimony for their accusations against John
Carman.

If you believe in American values and share my indignation
at such injustice, you too will want this to be
investigated. As many of you know on May 14th and 15th of
this month I spoke live before a Congressional panel in
Washington, D.C. I was able to secure the interest of
several of our Representatives on the Judicial Oversite
Committee. I hope with your help, I can get this
investigated by that Committee. Please help expose this
corruption by following these VERY SIMPLE instructions:

An Inconvenient Immigration Truth …

It will come as no surprise that the northern California cities of San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland are hotbeds of liberalism complete with all the trappings such a label would entail. The latest flawed, liberal thinking finding a foothold in our nation in those fine cities has to do with the Immigration debate.

Last month, Oakland’s Mayor Ron Dellums and City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente declared their city a City of Refuge for illegal aliens. This expanded on the 1986 City Council resolution establishing Oakland as a haven for political refugees seeking asylum from four countries. San Francisco established this same practice as its own in 1989 and in January of 2006 reaffirmed its status as a City of Refuge. Other US cities, such as New Haven, CT, have taken similar steps or are considering it.

For Oakland, being a City of Refuge means, ” … that city departments and staff aren’t to cooperate with any federal immigration investigation, detention or arrest procedures.” For San Fran it means, “The ordinance forbids city resources from being used to enforce federal immigration laws or to gather or disseminate information regarding the status of residents of The City.” In a display of elitism that should surprise no one, these city fathers simply refuse to obey the law of the land.

The rationale for the ordinances is that the federal law (both at the time and some proposed legislation) is immoral and so, in a display of civil disobedience, it must be intentionally disregarded.

The most noxious element in the matter is the adoption of the biblical title, “City of Refuge” and the self serving appeal to the Scriptures and Christianity for justification. It should be seen as insulting to members of all Christian denominations that those willing to ignore the Book when it suits them will hypocritically claim its authority if it suits them. Clearly, they have no intention of honoring God’s Word. Their only agenda is promoting their own agenda.

Unfortunately for them, the inconvenient biblical truth is that the scriptural City of Refuge has nothing in common with their self righteous adoption of the name.

In the first place, the establishment of a city as a City of Refuge was not something a city did for itself. There were only 6 Cities of Refuge in all of Israel. God commanded Moses to establish them in Numbers 35 and gave Joshua the same command in Joshua 20. It was the Israelite equivalent of our federal government that established the concept. Oakland, San Francisco and others twist and pervert the biblical purpose and intent by taking the name for themselves.

Additionally, Cities of Refuge were established to preserve the rule of law, not to undermine it. The purpose of a City of Refuge was to be a temporary haven for either those who accidentally caused the death of another or who were accused of murder but maintained that the death they caused was either accidental in nature or justified. Mosaic law allowed for murder to be punished by the death of the murderer. The killing of the murderer was often accomplished by a relative of the victim. This person was known as “the avenger of blood”.

As there was little resembling our current justice system at that time and as the sentence was stiff, it made sense to have a plan to protect a person accused of a capital offense until such time as a trial could be had to establish guilt or innocence. A person at risk of being killed by an avenger of blood was to present himself to the elders of one of the six cities and state his case. Once he claimed sanctuary based on the City of Refuge concept, the city protected him and was not to turn him over to the avenger of blood.

His sanctuary was not permanent, however. There was to be a trial. If the accused were to be found guilty of murder, then the appropriate sentence would be carried out. If he was found innocent of murder, if the death he caused was determined to be unintentional ” … and without malice aforethought” then the accused could remain safe in the City of Refuge until the current high priest died. At that time, he was permitted to return to his home city, still safe from the avenger of blood.

Simply having a City of Refuge to run to was not protection enough. If the avenger of blood were to find his quarry on the way to the City of Refuge, the quarry could be killed without consequence. Just so, if the quarry arrived safely at the City of Refuge and was granted sanctuary and then left for whatever reason and the avenger of blood found him outside the city, the quarry could be killed without consequence.

Thus, the entire concept of the City of Refuge acknowledged that there were laws that must be followed and enforced. Cities of Refuge were established precisely so men like Ron Dellums, Ignacio De La Fuente and Gavin Newsom could not make their own laws to supersede the law of the land.

Ironically, the book itself forbids the use of the City of Refuge concept in the manner in which Oakland and others seek to do. The Book clearly acknowledges differences in national identity. In fact, one of the two key passages establishing Cities of Refuge does so. Joshua 20:9 says,

Any of the Israelites or any alien living among them (emphasis added) who killed someone accidentally could flee to these designated cities and not be killed by the avenger of blood prior to standing trial before the assembly.

A final observation is that the concept of the City of Refuge is rooted and grounded in mercy and grace. However, mercy and grace have no meaning without the concept of sin and offense. Thus, those who fled to a City of Refuge themselves acknowledged there was a law against what they were accused of doing. Their flight was not to escape justice but a claim that their actions were not such that justice needed to be applied to them.

In this, at least, 21st century City of Refuge aficionados are somewhat in line with biblical reasoning. They want Cities of Refuge, not because they want to ensure that illegal aliens are treated in accordance with the law of the land, but because they don’t believe illegal aliens are guilty of anything. Robert Reyes, the author of the American Chronicle article on Oakland, after incorrectly establishing the biblical concept of a City of Refuge says this:

Evangelicals aren’t adverse (sic) to disobeying the laws of men, they often cite the Biblical injunction to “Obey God rather than men.” Christians should be at the forefront of the movement to make the major cities in America, Cities of Refuge.

If Jesus Christ came back, I’m persuaded that the Holy Man who befriended social outcasts, would welcome undocumented immigrants with open arms. Jesus Christ would condemn Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and James Dobson as hypocrites and embrace De La Fuente and Ron Dellums as men of God.

There is no such thing as an illegal alien; what’s illegal and immoral is the cumbersome and lengthy process to become a legal citizen. We should streamline the process and do away with restrictive quotas. America should be a Country of Refuge, absorbing as many immigrants as possible.

Mr. Reyes, with the arrogant stroke of a pen, legalizes the criminal and criminalizes the law.

Still, perhaps Mr. Reyes is right. Perhaps we should institute the City of Refuge concept here in the US. With that in mind, I propose the following …

Any law enforcement agency apprehending an illegal alien, rather than spending a dime to incarcerate and prosecute him should spend a few dollars on bus fare to send him to Oakland, San Francisco or Berkeley. Any other self appointed Cities of Refuge can get in on the deal as well. Upon his arrival, the illegal need only claim sanctuary and the City of Refuge will be required to take him in until such time as his case can be tried. If found guilty, he is to be punished according to the law of the land. If innocent, he must stay in the City of Refuge until the death of the current Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court. At that time he can return to his home city (need I point out this would be in his own home country) and be free from our obnoxious and burdensome laws.

Thinking that looking before one leaps can save an awful lot of embarrassment …

Man with rare tuberculosis tells his tale

This stuff is just going to get worse...

A man with a form of tuberculosis so dangerous that he is under the first U.S. government-ordered quarantine since 1963 has described how he took one trans-Atlantic flight for his wedding and honeymoon and another because he feared for his life.

Hundreds of health officials around the world are now scrambling to track down passengers who were seated near the man, said Julie Gerberding, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on Wednesday.

"There are two aspects to this," Gerberding said. "One is, is the patient himself highly infectious? Fortunately, in this case, he's probably not. But the other piece is this bacteria is a very deadly bacteria. We just have to err on the side of caution."

Health officials said that the man had been advised not to fly and that he knew he could expose others when he boarded the jets from Atlanta to Paris, and later from Prague to Montreal.

The man, however, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that doctors had not ordered him not to fly and had only suggested that he put off his long-planned wedding in Greece.

He knew that he had a form of tuberculosis and that it was resistant to first-line drugs, but he did not realize it could be so dangerous, he said.

"We headed off to Greece thinking everything's fine," said the man, who declined to be identified because of the stigma attached to his diagnosis.

He flew to Paris on May 12 aboard Air France Flight 385. While he was in Europe, the health authorities reached him with the news that further tests had revealed his TB to be a rare, "extensively drug-resistant" form, far more dangerous than he knew. They ordered him into isolation, saying he should turn himself over to Italian officials.

Instead, the man flew from Prague to Montreal on May 24 aboard Czech Air Flight 0104, then drove into the United States. He told the newspaper he was afraid that if he did not get back to the United States he would not get the treatment he needed to survive.

He is now at Grady Memorial Hospital, in Atlanta, in respiratory isolation.

With the free travel, immigration, both legal and illegal, Diseases that have been wiped out in the USA are reappearing. This seems like a new form of resistant TB, but illegal aliens from south of the border have already brought TB and resistant TB back to the U.S. along with other diseases and bed bugs.

Now to get to another point his story points out. If our health care system is so bad and Europe.s socialized medicine is so good, why did he go to such great lengths to get back to the USA? Well, in his own words: " he was afraid that if he did not get back to the United States he would not get the treatment he needed to survive." Yup, and every Dem running for President wants to FIX our failing health system, careful folks...

NH presidential debates open Sunday

The first Presidential debates for the first-in-the-nation primary will be held this Sunday and Tuesday at Saint Anselm College in forums for both Democratic and Republican candidates that will be broadcast nationwide by CNN and locally by WMUR.

The Debates will start at 7pm Eastern and last two hours. Democrats will debate on Sunday and the Republicans on Tuesday night.

U.S. to Study Protection for Alaska Loon

A petition seeking Endangered Species Act protection for a rare loon that breeds in Alaska's National Petroleum Reserve has been accepted for review by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Conservationists hope an eventual listing of the yellow-billed loon will curb petroleum development in the 23-million acre reserve that covers much of Alaska's western North Slope.

I am sick and tired of this stuff. If the loon cannot survive that is it's problem. Don't all these left wing eco-nuts believe in Darwin's theory of evolution? Well than the loon can adapt or die off, that is darwinism. We need to start developing ALL our resources, both inland and on the continental shelf. We want to get off foreign oil well that would REQUIRE drilling for our own oil reserves and alternatives, not just one or the other.

Cindy Sheehan Quits as 'Face' of Anti-War Movement

Cindy Sheehan, the "peace mom" who made headlines in 2005 by staging a marathon protest outside President Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch, said Monday that she no longer wants to be seen as a leader of the anti-war movement.

In a 1,245-word missive entitled "Goodbye Attention Whore" posted on the liberal DailyKos blog, Sheehan said her campaign to end the war in Iraq had strained her relationship with her children, cost her a marriage and left her nearly penniless.

"This is my resignation letter as the 'face' of the American anti-war movement," Sheehan wrote. "I am going to take whatever I have left and go home. I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children and try to regain some of what I have lost."

I for one will not miss her and she must be a better mother than a left wing loon, because she did raise a true American Hero; Casey Sheehan.

The House overwhelmingly passed the No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act of 2007, or NOPEC bill, which would amend the Sherman Act and declare it illegal for foreign governments to limit oil and natural gas production in an effort to control energy prices.

A Senate panel has approved comparable language, and the provision eventually could be added to Reid's energy package.

The Democrats are going to tell other countries what they can do with their oil? Isn't this something you libs out there would accuse President Bush of doing? Isn't this fascism? Isn't this meddling in other country's affairs? These are your people left wing cliff-dwellers! How will they enforce this bill? Will they invade countries who violate their legislation?

Flags Replaced With Swastikas in Wash.

Vandals burned dozens of small American flags that decorated veterans' graves for Memorial Day and replaced many of them with hand-drawn swastikas, authorities said Monday.

Forty-six flag standards were found empty and another 33 flags were in charred tatters Sunday in the cemetery, authorities said. Swastikas drawn on paper appeared where 14 of the flags had been.

Members of the American Legion on this island off Washington's northwest coast replaced the burned flags with new ones Sunday afternoon.

The vandals struck again on Memorial Day after a guard left at dawn, the San Juan County sheriff's office said. This time, the vandals left 33 of the hand-drawn swastikas.

This is not free speech, this is vandalism and quashing other people's right to free speech. This is anti-American behavior from the commie Left. Desecrating the graves of fallen soldiers is unconscionable! Calling them Nazis is only offensive, It just goes to show, they have no idea what fascism is and they should look in the mirror.

Scandal Helping Big Oil Companies Hide Billions From Government at Taxpayer Expense

Buzz Flash has an interesting article about some strange goings on in regards to oil leases and royalties...

Corruption within the Department of Interior may have allowed oil companies to improperly save billions at the expense of the taxpayers. The Department’s Inspector General has already made at least two criminal referals to the FBI and the Justice Department, and Congressional Democrats have launched several investigations and introduced new legislation to fix the problem.

In a nutshell, oil companies leasing federal land to drill for oil are required to pay the government royalties based on a percentage of their sales. But under the Royalty-in-Kind program, the companies can pay in the form of oil and gas instead of cash. The problem is that oil prices have increased more than the value of the oil and gas royalty revenues being recieved, meaning that the oil companies are managing to withhold a growing amount of their profits from Uncle Sam.

These strange goings on, may explain why customs agent Darlene Fitzgerald, the author of Border Gate, was ordered to stop checking rail tankers after finding tons of Marijuana in one coming across our southern border. Something is very fishy and I hope we get to the bottom of this, regardless who is responsible, because this is down right criminal and as usually we the people are getting hosed. It appears this scandal has spanned the Clinton and Bush administration, so it remains to be seen how Congress will handle this one. I mean will they be aggressive if they cannot dump it only on President Bush? Will the democrat controlled congress expose Bill Clinton's administration if they are also guilty?

If NY ICE is forced to move from in front of Bloomberg’s home, it will exemplify the Mayor’s hypocrisy-- he is all for allowing millions of illegal aliens to trespass across our borders, BUT we cannot stand in front of his home to call attention to it?

Mike Bloomberg should STOP allowing NYC to be a “sanctuary city” for illegal aliens, and allow the NYPD to ask about the immigration status of its arrestees. Currently, the NYPD is handcuffed when it comes to asking about an arrestee’s immigration status-- and, this occurs while at least 25 Americans are killed EVERY DAY by an illegal alien trespasser who should never have been in our country to begin with. Illegal aliens in jail, then what?

In jails across the United States, seldom a day goes by without law
enforcement arresting illegal aliens. It's what they do after they have
them in jail that can make the difference for Americans. Are they
simply released, or are the Feds notified, are the prisoners then
deported?

Seldom a week goes by without Rock County Jail authorities
finding an illegal alien in the prisoner population. Jail Administrator
Tom Gehl says they actively look for illegals. He says records are
reviewed on prisoners with suspicious personal identification. He says
the federal authorities are notified and typically pick up the prisoner
after they serve their time in Rock County.

Do any of our officials remember that "Illegal Immigration is a Crime?"

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

* Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or


* Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or


* Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a
willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment
of a material fact;

has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up
to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison.
Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration
judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature
of the offense.

One Way to Fight a Sanctuary City

New Haven, Connecticut is going sanctuary city in a big and bold way. The town is encouraging illegal aliens to remain in the country through the issuance of municipal ID cards. Sanctuary cities exist under violation of federal law. Too bad no one on the federal level has the personal or professional integrity to enforce the law. The New Haven Register covers the criminal act with blissful ignorance.

“The New Haven Board of Aldermen Thursday took the first step toward New Haven becoming the first city in the country to issue a municipal identification card that would be available to all within its borders, including undocumented immigrants.

…Beyond that, the card was seen as an example for the rest of the country to follow to start to deal with the 12 million illegal immigrants in America, some 70,000 of whom are estimated to be living in Connecticut.

“This could be a step for New Haven to lead our country into the future,” Brennan said.”

I received an email yesterday from Paul Streitz, Co-Director of Connecticut Citizens for Immigration Control, on this very subject.

“For Immediate Release

CTCIC Sends Warning Letter to DeStefano

CT Citizens for Immigration Control sent a warning letter to Mayor Tom DeStefano of New Haven. The letter asserts that an identification card for illegal aliens would be a criminal violation of U.S. Immigration Law by inducing illegal aliens to reside in the United States.

The letter says the mayor and city officials issuing an ID, plus any citizen or organizations accepting such an ID card, would be subject to fines and imprisonment.

In addition, the letter says that such an ID card and its acceptance would be criminal racketeering. Officials implementing an ID Card and citizens accepting it would be engaged in immigration racketeering would be subject to private law suits under RICO.

“Mayor DeStefano will be putting himself, the City Council and other New Haven residents in financial jeopardy by passing this bill,” says Mr. Streitz.

“If there is one person killed or injured by an illegal alien living in New Haven by homicide or vehicular accident, the mayor, the councilmen and anyone accepting this card would be personally liable,” says Mr. Streitz.

“The parents of a murdered child are not going to want to hear the Mayor’s praise of illegals,” says Mr. Streitz.”

Using RICO to hold politicians personally liable for their cavalier criminal acts may or may not work. However, it certainly gives them something to ponder. Could an accident, like the one 17-year-old Alison Kunhardt and 16-year-old Tessa Tranchant were involved in, be the grounds for a ruinous lawsuit against politicians who openly break our laws? It is an interesting concept.

Residents of cities like New Haven should be voting the likes of DeStefano out office. Too bad Election Day wasn’t everyday. Which is why citizen actions like these are important. You may not be able to vote the idiots out on any given day but you can certainly let them know you don’t approve of their actions.

At the very least, this warning of potential personal liability, on the parts of New Haven’s political leaders, is a no uncertain terms statement against illegal immigration. It let’s our politicians know they are on the wrong side of the issue. We need more citizens speaking their minds on illegal immigration now more than ever. Democrat hopefuls taught socialized medicine

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) on Tuesday offered a sweeping health care plan that would provide every citizen a means for coverage and calls on government, businesses and consumers to share the costs of the program.

Uh huh, that sounds good doesn't it? Well, not if you are a thinking person.

Obama said his plan could save the average consumer $2,500 a year and bring health care to all. Campaign aides estimated the cost of the program at $50 billion to $65 billion a year, financed largely by eliminating tax cuts for the wealthy that are scheduled to expire.

While Obama's plan is aimed at expanding coverage, he said cutting costs was also essential.[snip]

There it is, 50 to 60 billion dollars PER YEAR. No worries, it is only money.

Obama's plan retains the private insurance system but injects additional money to pay for expanding coverage. It would also create a National Health Insurance Exchange to monitor insurance companies in offering the coverage.

Those who can't afford coverage would get a subsidy on a sliding scale depending on their income, and virtually all businesses would have to share in the cost of coverage for their workers.

Forcing businesses to share the cost, tax payer dollars paying for insurance and government controlled medical costs.This is socialism folks and every country that has it has crappy health care. there is a reason people fly to this country for heart surgeries and more. Heck, Madonna told Paltrow that she was crazy for thinking about having her baby in England's hospitals, calling them dungeons. Paltrow had her baby, as did Madonna, in the USA. If Socialized medicine is so good, why would they fly back to the states to have their babies?

The plan doesn't have the mandate that rival Democratic candidate
John Edwards is proposing to ensure that all Americans get coverage. The 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee would require everyone to have health insurance, much like state requirements for auto insurance for every driver. Both candidates would require businesses to help cover their workers.

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who oversaw a massive but unsuccessful project to overhaul the nation's health care system while she was first lady, has promised universal health care but has yet to provide specifics.

Well it appeaars if we elect a democrat we will be becoming a socialist nation; big surprise.

Memorial Day

It is Memorial Day Weekend Folks. Let’s not forget what it is really all about. It is not just about time off, BBQ, friends and family. It is about remembering our Country’s Fallen Heroes. Those who died so that we may be free.

The least we can do is stop as a nation at 3 pm local time on Memorial Day and take a few moments to reflect on those that bled for our rights,and freedom; and for the freedom’s of others.

Conservative Third Party?

"How has the GOP gone wrong?”

"The GOP is on a downward course to becoming the party
of corporate globalism, not conservatism,” said one
analyst recently. “Unless Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul or
Duncan Hunter receives the 2008 nomination,
conservatives will have no choice but to vote third
party,” said another.

Conservatives all around the country are talking about
the prospect of flocking to a conservative third
party*, which more than likely would be the
Constitution Party or the America First Party. If
they were smart, they would look at the British
National Party, Front National, and Vlaams Belang in
Europe as models, all of which have made great
strides. And unlike the phony neocon GOP in the
U.S., these parties are conservative in the true
sense: they want to conserve Western man and his
ancestral traditions.

How has the GOP gone wrong?

First, there is no greater betrayal than over
immigration. So tied to providing cheap labor for
big business, all but two Republican Senators recently
voted against Senator Dorgan’s amendment to scrap the
guest-worker program, which will overwhelmingly drive
down American wages. They have sided with the
corporate globalists against hard-working Americans.

There is a third-world invasion of the U.S. taking
place, and many in the GOP (e.g. Bush, McCain,
Giuliani, Brownback, Huckabee, Rice, et al.) have
actually sided with the invaders against their fellow
Americans. As Jean Raspail said in Camp of the
Saints, the “best conservative book ever written,” we
can make a stand now against the invaders, or we can
watch the West crumble and become a third-world
wasteland.

Second, the neocon war in Iraq must come to an end.
The transformation of the Middle East to liberal
democracy is Jacobin, not conservative. It’s a
product of Wilsonian utopianism, not conservatism. If
we really want to end terrorism in the West, we need
to (1) completely withdraw from the Middle East, (2)
end foreign aid to all Middle Eastern countries, (3)
deport all Muslims from the West, and (4) end all
immigration from the third world.

Many do not realize it, but terrorism is primarily an
immigration issue, as they are beginning to discover
in the U.K. Three of the terrorists recently nabbed
in New Jersey (plotting to attack Ft. Dix) were
illegal immigrants who entered the U.S . from Mexico
and were aided by Mexicans. Over 200,000 Hispanics
in the U.S. have recently converted to Islam. And
almost all previous terrorists, including those on
Sept. 11, were either legal or illegal third-world
immigrants. If Seung-Hui Cho had not been allowed to
immigrate to the U.S., the Virginia Tech massacre
would not have happened.

Third, free trade is destroying our economy and
eroding away our sovereignty, and it must end.
Historically, conservatives have opposed free trade,
and they should, but many in the GOP have been
“neoconned” on this issue and now support it in some
perverse suicide pact.

The Democratic Party, which during the 19th century
was the conservative party while the GOP was the
radical left-wing party, is already lost to the
globalists. And now it seems that the Republican
Party is going the same route. Unless radical change
is brought about in the GOP, conservatives will have
no choice but foster third-party change.

The stakes are right. The U.S. is on its way to
becoming a third-world wasteland. We must act now!

‘How-to’ Manual Found in Al Qaeda Safe House Shows Disturbing Torture Methods

Al Qaeda terrorists use blow torches, electric drills and meat cleavers to torture and force information out of their victims, according to a "how-to" book discovered in a terrorist safe house in Iraq.

The Defense Department recently released disturbing images and cartoons showing how to torture a captive found by American forces during a raid on a Al Qaeda safe house a few weeks ago. They also found photos of tortured Iraqi victims.

The book guides followers of Al Qaeda how to interrogate and torture captives.

The drawings and cartoons depict ways to use electric drills and irons, meat cleavers and other devices to force victims to talk or harm them.

Some of the drawings show how to drill hands, sever limbs, drag victims behind cars, remove eyes, put a blowtorch or iron to someone’s skin, suspend a person from a ceiling and electrocute them, break limbs and restrict breath and put someone’s head in a vice.

Items found at the safe house include electric drills, hammers, blow torches, meat cleavers, pliers and wire cutters, chains, screw drivers, whips and handcuffs.

Earlier this week U.S. troops found the information near Baghdad, along with five Iraqis being held.

This is torture people, not our "enhanced interrogation techniques". Take a good look, since you all seem confused about what torture is and is not; this is torture.

ACLU condemned for attacking veterans memorials during time of war

A constitutional attorney says instead of thanking American veterans for their service, the American Civil Liberties Union is "dishonoring" them by attacking their memorials across the United States.

The American Legion has announced that it is teaming up with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) and Liberty Legal Institute in a campaign to fight ACLU efforts to remove religious symbols from war memorials. The ACLU has already filed suit to remove crosses at veterans' memorials, like the Mt. Soledad cross in San Diego and the Sunrise Rock cross in the Mojave Desert, which is now covered by a box.

At a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Liberty Legal attorney Hiram Sasser accused the ACLU of engaging in "a war against honor and valor." He said it is "inconceivable in a time of war such as now that the ACLU and others would be attacking the memorials, the very symbols of honor and sacrifice of our national heritage.

"These symbols and these memorials serve as reminders to all of us of the great sacrifice and courage and valor of our veterans," Sasser observed. The ACLU and its allies "have no respect, decency or shame," he added.

At that same news conference, ADF senior vice president Joe Infranco noted that it has never been unconstitutional for a memorial to have a religious symbol. "The will of the public expressed so clearly by voters and Congress is being attacked by a few individuals whose legal theory is based on a claim that they are offended," he pointed out.[snip]

ADF and Liberty Legal are offering pro-bono representation to any municipality that is sued for displaying a veterans memorial that contains religious symbols. Infranco said his group is on a "search and protect mission" to defend America's veterans memorials from the "misguided fanaticism" of the ACLU.

Thank goodness that they are teaming up to fight the ACLU for free. The ACLU bullies local municipalities into pulling Crosses from memorials and seals. If you are offended by the cross tough! The constitution does not guarantee you freedom FROM religion or from being offended; suck it up. Atheism is, in itself a religion. you must BELIEVE there is no God without any proof.

Amnesty = Revolution? Am I crazy?

Ok so maybe you are still not convinced that amnesty for 12 million illegal immigrants is not such a bad thing., and maybe you are looking at my post on the revolution that is happening right here in your/my back yard and saying what a nutcase.

Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words so let me show you (this will save me some typing) what amnesty will bring to life.

Professor Armando Navarro was the organizer of the 1995 UC Riverside Prop 187 forum where many of the voices were recorded. He was also the organizer for the recent San Bernardino forum on Jan. 12th, 2006. That is also where I recorded Professor Navarro and Herman Baca. Fabian Nunez and numerous other Latino leaders spoke at the LA Gran Marcha but they only spoke Spanish. Antonio Villaraigosa spoke English and he said many seditious things, like always, but I did not get a good audio recording of him. That’s why I used the older clip. I haven’t had my Gran Marcha tapes translated.

The recording of Joe Baca is the only clip that I cannot place. However, it is his voice. I recorded him at the Jan 12th 2006 San Bernardino Latino Forum. Unfortunately he didn’t say anything very juicy. As a Congressman he watches what he says very closely but the company he keeps says an awful lot about him.

Now I know you are asking yourself where did they get this crazy idea; Well that idea was started by Mexico’s own President Ernesto Zedillo who was part of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), told the nation “I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important, a very important part of it.”

Ok so what is Aztlan and what makes me think it is a revolution?

Under the euphuism ‘Hispanic Homeland’ and ‘Nation of Aztlan,’ activists from numerous organizations including Mexican American Legal Defense and La Raza (The Race) activists are attempting to annex large portions of SW United States to Mexico.  “Republica del Norte,” the Republic of the North, which would include the present U.S. states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, plus southern Colorado, along with several current Mexican states, is “an inevitability” says Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico. He further states the new “Hispanic Homeland” should be brought into being “by any means necessary.”

The Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and the National Immigration Forum (NIF) whose names imply  grassroots organizations reflecting the will of American Hispanics, do not represent mainstream American Hispanic opinion.   Rather, they speak only in their own best interests, favoring the mass immigration that gives them more constituents they can then profess to represent. Polls show that Hispanic-Americans, like all Americans, support stronger enforcement of our immigration laws.

A ‘Hispanic Homeland’ could be written off as the work of extremists were it not for wide-spread support by Mexicans.  A June 2002 Zogby poll of Mexicans found that a substantial majority of Mexican citizens believe that southwestern America is rightfully the territory of Mexico and that Mexicans do not need the permission of the U.S. to enter.  The poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, “The territory of the United States’ southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico.” Zogby said 28 percent disagreed, while another 14 percent said they weren’t sure.

Ok... ok... But what about the terrorist theory you mentioned?

All I can say about this is; have you heard the saying looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Ok so you look at all this and say that’s old news. Well yeah, but the people are still here and in greater numbers. Protesting for amnesty, entering this country by the thousands everyday. HELLO!! It is still news today!

So hey, do nothing about the new Immigration Reform Bill that our Senators are trying to put on the fast track. But if you sit back and do nothing the least you can do is get yourself a Mexican flag to fly on Flag Day.

New Mexico to Become Latest Large Mexican Colony?

Just when I thought politics in New Mexico could not possibly become any more bizarre - they did. The police department for the state capitol - Santa Fe - has made the decision to hire Mexican Nationals (NOT US citizens) as “law enforcement” officers. In this way, the new Mexican (not US) police officers can ensure that illegal immigrants are given the special privileges the anarchistic hordes have decided they deserve. And, New Mexico has begun the secession from the US, in order to no longer have to adhere to its pesky laws.

Zieve goes on to say:

I never thought that I would see the complete dissolution-by-design of the USA by our on elected leaders. But, before our very eyes, that is precisely what is now occurring. Our “leaders” have already begun the process of separating the USA into colonias, which now encompass 4 states — California, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. As well, our law enforcers have made the decision that only the laws they and the politicians in power want will be upheld. If US laws fly in the face of their desires, said laws will be ignored and thrown out. If these new individually-designed and written laws continue to go unchallenged, the country is already lost. Both the invading Islamists and illegals’ Mexico-first crowds can divide the spoils of what was once the greatest country and ideology on Earth — now gone due to lack of interest. Has the US population become weary of liberty and freedom? Does it truly want suppression and submission to the will of a master?

Congress Votes to Fund the Troops

Finally, they funded our troops...

After a nearly four-month standoff between the Democratic-controlled Congress and the White House, the House and Senate passed a war funding bill Thursday evening that does not contain timetables for the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

The overwhelming majority of House Democrats voted against the bill, even those Democratic leaders who introduced the legislation to be voted upon -- a tacit acknowledgement that, at least in this round of wrangling, President George W. Bush won.[snip]

Yup, the democrats support the troops so much that they voted to deny them the money they need for better weaponry and voted not to PAY THEM.

In addition to providing $95.5 billion in funds for troops in Iraq and Afganistan, the bill contains provisions largely based on language written by Sen. John Warner, R-Va., which sets 18 benchmarks for the Iraqi government to meet. If the Iraqi government does not meet those benchmarks, President Bush can choose to penalize the government by withholding aid.[snip]

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said that since President Bush first officially requested supplemental funds for U.S. troops in February, "Congress has voted more than 30 times on Iraqi-related measures without approving a single dime. One hundred eight days and more than 30 votes later, ... we're relieved the Democratic leadership has decided to strip a reckless and nonsensical surrender date from the bill."[snip]

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on the other hand, spoke with measured control, describing the bill as "something that does not have adequate guidelines and timetables, something that does not have adequate consequences, and something that does not have my support."[snip]

That ought to make the anti-war anti-troop crowd happy Sweeper of the House.

That was not good enough for Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a founder of the Out of Iraq Caucus.

"It boggles my mind that Congress wants to give him another blank check to buy more shovels," she said.

Congressional Progressive Caucus? We have a communist caucus in congress? Do you see how bad things have gotten? We have a black caucus, a hispanic caucus and communist caucus in Congress! These are all minority groups that work for their individual special interests! Not the interests of the majority of the American people, their minority interests.

Well, we get some rest from this, but it will be back...

Lebanon warns militants: Surrender or else

Things are heating up in Lebanon...

Lebanon's defense minister issued an ultimatum Wednesday to Islamic militants barricaded in a Palestinian refugee camp to surrender or face a military onslaught, as the army reinforced its positions, raising fears of what could be a bloody showdown.

Fighters from the al Qaeda-inspired Fatah al-Islam militant group vowed not to give up and to resist any Lebanese assault.

You have to like their attitude, this is the only language they understand. You must negotiate from a position of strength. Now, if they defy them we will see if they mean what they say. If not they will show weakness and be doomed.

Sen. Corker on S.1348 today

Sen. Bob Corker is on the Ralph Bristol talk radio program right now. He just stated that he would vote against this bill in it’s current form. He stated that any illegal alien currently in the country could come forth and get a Z visa with no intention of ever applying for a green card yet will be able to stay in the country indefinitely with no repercussions. He also has concerns regarding the operational enforcement of the bill. It’s one thing to say the bill includes strong enforcement measures but another to see if they are implemented and successful.

Sen. Corker called into Bristols program to request the interview. Corker reiterated his commitment to Tennesseans during his campaign to not support amnesty. Corker also said he’d met with the Administration to inform them of his concerns and stance on the bill.

Compared to Sen. Lamar Alexander’s interviews in the last couple days Corker’s interview was a breath of fresh air. Alexander danced around his stand and evaded any commitment. Alexander’s evasion pretty much said everything which is that Alexander is in favor of this amnesty and the only thing holding him back is that he’s running for re-election in 2008.

President Bush Delivers Commencement Address at the United States Coast Guard Academy

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, all. Admiral Allen, thank you for that kind introduction. Admiral Burhoe, congratulations on your promotion. Academy staff and faculty, Congressman Chris Shays, state and local officials, distinguished guests, proud families and, most importantly, members of the Class of 2007: thanks for having me.

It's a privilege to stand with the future leaders of the United States Coast Guard. Before you receive your degrees today, I want to make sure that you have learned your "indoc." What is the Coast Guard?

CADETS: Mr. President, the Coast Guard is the hard nucleus about which the Navy forms in times of war, sir! (Applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: I probably shouldn't relay that to the Secretary of the Navy. (Laughter.)

I see a few "RCF Warriors" out there. Some of you earned demerits for failing to correct your storage [sic], others got caught crawling under the fence on your way to Connecticut College. (Laughter.) However you got bagged, help has arrived. (Laughter.) In keeping with longstanding tradition, I hereby absolve all cadets who are on restriction for minor conduct offenses. (Applause.) I'll leave it to Admiral Burhoe to define exactly what "minor" means. (Laughter.)

More than 6,000 young Americans applied to join the Coast Guard Academy Class of 2007, and today just 228 will walk across this stage to receive your diploma and commission. You're a select few, and each of you worked really hard to get to this moment: survived R-Day, Swab Summer, and Friday morning drill practice with a kind and gentle soul, Chief Dillmann. (Laughter.) You learned to brace up, do orderlies, square meals, and eat "hamsters" with your "eyes in the boat." You arrived on this campus as "swabs" -- and today you will leave as proud officers of the United States Coast Guard. (Applause.) Your teachers are proud, your parents are thrilled, and your Commander-in-Chief is grateful for your devotion to duty. Congratulations to you all. (Applause.)

You didn't make it to this day on your own. Many of you had the help of a special faculty member who mentored -- mentored you along the way. Others made it only through as a result of the intervention of one man: Hopley Yeaton -- he's the patron saint of the Square Root Club. For the moms and dads, the Square Root Club is an association of students whose GPA is so low that when you take its square root, it grows larger. (Laughter.) Unfortunately, they didn't have that club where I went to college -- (laughter) -- perhaps you'll make me an honorary member. (Laughter.)

Whether you're graduating today at the top of your class, or by the skin of your teeth, your presence on this field is a tremendous accomplishment. And it would not have been possible without the support of the families who believed in you and encouraged you. So I ask all the parents and loved ones here today to stand and be recognized by the class of 2007. (Applause.)

The degree you've earned will command respect wherever you go, and you will carry the lessons you learned here for the rest of your lives. This Academy has tested your minds, your bodies, and your character, and having passed these trials, you now embark on a voyage as officers in the oldest continuous Maritime service.

The history of the Coast Guard dates back more than two centuries, to the Revenue Cutter Service, established under the presidency of George Washington -- or as I call him, the first George W. (Laughter and applause.) Since its inception, the Coast Guard has conducted search and rescue missions, enforced our maritime laws, protected our marine environment, come to the aid of stranded boaters, and helped staunch the flow of illegal drugs and illegal migrants to our shores. And in this new century, the Coast Guard continues to carry out these vital missions.

Americans rely on the Coast Guard in times of disaster. When Hurricane Katrina hit our nation's Gulf Coast, the men and women of the Coast Guard swung into action, hanging from helicopters, pulling people off rooftops and out of trees, and rescuing more than 33,000 people. (Applause.) When storms and floods and tragedy strike, Americans know that they can count on the United States Coast Guard. (Applause.)

Americans relied on the Coast Guard on September the 11th, 2001. After terrorists struck the Twin Towers, the Coast Guard station on Staten Island put out a call for "all available boats," and organized a massive flotilla of military and civilian craft that evacuated hundreds of thousands of people from lower Manhattan. It was the largest waterborne evacuation in our nation's history. And in the days that followed, the men and women of the Coast Guard stayed on the job, assisting operations at Ground Zero, sending chaplains to comfort the bereaved, and coordinating a round-the-clock defense of New York Harbor and other vital ports. In a time of crisis, the Coast Guard did its job, and did it well. (Applause.)

On September the 11th, the home front you protect became a battlefront in a new and unprecedented war. That day, our nation changed forever, and so did the mission of the United States Coast Guard. This service assumed new and essential responsibilities: to defend our nation against terrorist infiltration, and to help stop new attacks before they kill our people.

As part of Operation Noble Eagle, the men and women of the Coast Guard are protecting more than 360 ports and more than 95,000 miles of coastline. Overseas, the Coast Guard is conducting maritime intercept operations in the Persian Gulf, patrolling the waters off Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The men and women of the Coast Guard are serving with courage, and the American people are grateful to live behind your Shield of Freedom.

Soon you'll join your fellow Coasties in carrying out these and other missions. And this Academy has prepared you well for the new challenges you will face in this war on terror. During your time here, you've taken courses in terrorist tactics and counterterrorism strategies; you've studied radiation detection, remote sensing, and the handling of hazardous materials; you participated in military exercises that have prepared you for the threats of this new century.

You'll need all this training to help keep your fellow citizens safe. In this war, we face a brutal enemy that has already killed thousands in our midst, and is determined to bring even greater destruction to our shores. We're blessed that there has not been another terrorist attack on our homeland in the past five-and-a-half years. This is not for lack of effort on the part of the enemy. Since 9/11, al Qaeda and its allies have succeeded in carrying out horrific attacks across the world; al Qaeda leaders have repeatedly made clear they intend to strike our country again.

In January of last year, Osama bin Laden warned the American people: "Operations are under preparation and you will see them on your own ground once they are finished." Seven months later, British authorities broke up the most ambitious known al Qaeda threat to the homeland since the 9/11 attacks: a plot to blow up passenger airplanes flying to America. Our intelligence community believes that this plot was just two or three weeks away from execution. If it had been carried out, it could have rivaled 9/11 in death and destruction.

This was not the first al Qaeda plot that has been foiled since 9/11. In December 2001 we captured an al Qaeda operative named Ali Salih al-Mari. Our intelligence community believes that Ali Salih was training in poisons at an al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan, and had been sent to the United States before September the 11th to serve as a sleeper agent ready for follow-on attacks. He was ordered to our country by 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, who is now in U.S. custody. Our intelligence community believes that KSM brought Ali Salih to meet Osama bin Laden, where he pledged his loyalty to the al Qaeda leader and offered himself up as a martyr. Among the potential targets our intelligence community believes this al Qaeda operative discussed with KSM were water reservoirs, the New York Stock Exchange, and United States military academies such as this one.

We also broke up two other post-9/11 aviation plots. The first, in 2002, was a plot by Khalid Sheikh Mohammad to repeat the destruction of 9/11 by sending operatives to hijack an airplane and fly into the tallest building on the West Coast. During a hearing at Guantanamo Bay just two months ago, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad stated that the intended target was the Library Tower in Los Angeles. And in 2003, we uncovered and stopped a plot led by another suspected senior al Qaeda operative named Abu Bakr al-Azdi. Our intelligence community believes this plot was to be another East Coast aviation attack, including multiple airplanes that had been hijacked and then crashing into targets in the United States.

There is a reason that these and other plots have thus far not succeeded: Since September the 11th, we have taken bold action at home and abroad to keep our people safe.

To help stop new attacks on our country, we have undertaken the most sweeping reorganization of the federal government since the start of the Cold War. We created the new Department of Homeland Security, merging 22 different government organizations, including the Coast Guard, into a single Department with a clear mission: to protect America from future attacks.

To stop new attacks on our country, we've strengthened our nation's intelligence community. We created the position of the Director of National Intelligence to ensure our intelligence agencies operate as a single, unified enterprise. We created the National Counter Terrorism Center, where the FBI, the CIA, and other agencies work side by side to track terrorist threats across the world. We directed the National Security Agency to monitor international terrorist communications. We established a program run by the CIA to detain and question key terrorist leaders and operatives. These measures are vital. These measures are working. And these measures have helped prevent an attack on our homeland. (Applause.)

To help stop new attacks on our country, we passed the Patriot Act, breaking down the walls that had prevented federal law enforcement and intelligence communities from sharing information about potential terrorist activities. We've transformed the FBI into an agency whose primary focus is stopping terrorist attacks. We've expanded the number of FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces from 35 before 9/11 to more than a hundred today. And we saw their effectiveness recently when one of these teams helped disrupt a plot by a group of al Qaeda-inspired extremists to kill American soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

To help stop new attacks on our country, we launched the BioWatch program, placing state-of-the-art equipment in major U.S. cities to detect biological agents. To help prevent terrorists from bringing nuclear or radiological weapons into our county, we're placing radiation detectors in all major U.S. ports. We placed advanced screening equipment and U.S. Homeland Security personnel at foreign ports, so we can pre-screen cargo headed for America. We're determined to stop the world's most dangerous men from striking America with the world's most dangerous weapons. And the Coast Guard is on the front line of this battle. (Applause.)

To help stop new attacks on our country, we've strengthened international cooperation in the fight against terror. A coalition of more than 90 nations -- nearly one-half of the world -- is working together to dry up terrorist financing and bring terrorist leaders to justice. We launched the Proliferation Security Initiative, a vast coalition of nations that are working to stop shipments of weapons of mass destruction on land, at sea, and in the air. With our allies, we have uncovered and shut down the A.Q. Khan network, which had supplied nuclear-related equipment and plans to terrorist states, including Iran and North Korea. With Great Britain, we convinced the leader of Libya to abandon his country's pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. The key components of Libya's nuclear program are now locked up in a storage facility right here in the United States. And today the world is safer because Libya is out of the nuclear weapons business. (Applause.)

All these steps are making our country safer, but we're not yet safe. To strike our country, the terrorists only have to be right once; to protect our country, we have to be right 100 percent of the time. That means the best way to protect our people is to take the fight to the enemy. So after 9/11, I vowed to America that we would go on the offense against the terrorists, fighting them across the world so we do not have to face them here at home. And since 9/11, that is precisely what that United States of America has done. (Applause.)

In Afghanistan, we removed a regime that gave sanctuary and support to al Qaeda as they planned the 9/11 attacks. Today, because we acted, the terrorist camps in Afghanistan have been shut down, 25 million people have been liberated, and the Afghan people have an elected government that is fighting terrorists, instead of harboring them. (Applause.)

The Taliban and al Qaeda are seeking to roll back Afghanistan's democratic progress -- but forces from 40 nations, including every member of NATO, are helping the Afghan people defend their democratic gains. Earlier this month, Afghan, American, and NATO forces tracked down and killed a top Taliban commander in Afghanistan. His death has sent a clear message to all who would challenge Afghanistan's young democracy: We drove al Qaeda and the Taliban out of power, and they're not going to be allowed to return to power. (Applause.)

In Iraq, we removed a cruel dictator who harbored terrorists, paid the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, invaded his neighbors, defied the United Nations Security Council, pursued and used weapons of mass destruction. Iraq, the United States and the world are better off without Saddam Hussein in power. (Applause.) And today the Iraqi people are building a young democracy on the rubble of Saddam Hussein's tyranny. In December 2005, nearly 12 million Iraqis demonstrated their desire to be free, going to the polls and choosing a new government under the most progressive, democratic constitution in the Arab world.

In 2006, a thinking enemy responded to this progress and struck back with brutality. They staged sensational attacks that led to a tragic escalation of sectarian rage and reprisal. If the sectarian violence continued to spiral out of control, the Iraqi government would have been in danger of collapse. The ensuing chaos would embolden Iran, which is fueling the violence, and al Qaeda, a key driver of Iraq's sectarian conflict. The chaos could eventually spread across the Middle East, and generations of Americans would be in even greater danger.

So I had a choice to make: withdraw our troops, or send reinforcements to help the Iraqis quell the sectarian violence. I decided to send more troops with a new mission: to help the Iraqi government secure their population and get control of Baghdad. As we carry out the new strategy, the Iraqi government has a lot of work to do. They must meet its responsibility to the Iraqi people and achieve benchmarks it has set, including adoption of a national oil law, preparations for provincial elections, progress on a new de-Baathification policy, and a review of the Iraqi constitution. The Iraqi people must see that their government is taking action to bring their country together and give all of Iraq's a stake in a peaceful future.

Now, in 2007, we are at a pivotal moment in this battle. There are many destructive forces in Iraq trying to stop this strategy from succeeding -- the most destructive is al Qaeda. Al Qaeda knows that a democratic Iraq is a threat to their ambitions to impose their hateful ideology across the Middle East. And al Qaeda knows that our presence in Iraq is a direct threat to their existence in Iraq. Our security depends on helping the Iraqis succeed and defeating Iraq -- al Qaeda in Iraq. (Applause.)

Some in our country question whether the battle in Iraq is part of the war on terror. Among the terrorists, there's no doubt. Hear the words of Osama bin Laden: He calls the struggle in Iraq a "war of destiny." He proclaimed "the war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever."

Bin Laden is matching his words with action. He attempted to send a new commander to Iraq, an Iraqi-born terrorist named Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi. According to our intelligence community, this terrorist had been a senior advisor to bin Laden, he served as his top commander in Afghanistan, he was responsible for all al Qaeda's military operations against our coalition in that country. Abd al-Hadi never made it to Iraq. He was captured last year, and he was recently he was transferred to the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay.

There is a reason that bin Laden sent one of his most experienced paramilitary leaders to Iraq: He believes that if al Qaeda can drive us out, they can establish Iraq as a new terrorist sanctuary. Our intelligence community believes that, "al Qaeda leaders see victory in Iraq -- the heart of the caliphate and currently the most active front in their war -- as a religious and strategic imperative." If al Qaeda succeeds in Iraq, they would pursue their stated goals of turning that nation into a base from which to overthrow moderate governments in the region, impose their hateful ideology on millions, and launch new attacks on America and other nations. Victory in Iraq is important for Osama bin Laden -- and victory in Iraq is vital for the United States of America. (Applause.)

I've often warned that if we fail in Iraq, the enemy will follow us home. Many ask: How do you know? Today, I'd like to share some information with you that attests to al Qaeda's intentions. According to our intelligence community, in January 2005, Osama bin Laden tasked the terrorist Zarqawi -- who was then al Qaeda's top leader in Iraq -- with forming a cell to conduct terrorist attacks outside of Iraq. Bin Laden emphasized that America should be Zarqawi's number one priority in terms of foreign attacks. Zarqawi welcomed this direction; he claimed that he had already come up with some good proposals.

To help Zarqawi in these efforts, our intelligence community reports that bin Laden then tasked one of his top terrorist operatives, Hamza Rabia, to send Zarqawi a briefing on al Qaeda's external operations, including information about operations against the American homeland. Our intelligence community reports that a senior al Qaeda leader, Abu Faraj al-Libi, went further and suggested that bin Laden actually send Rabia, himself, to Iraq to help plan external operations. Abu Faraj later speculated that if this effort proved successful, al Qaeda might one day prepare the majority of its external operations from Iraq.

In May of 2005, Abu Faraj was captured and taken into CIA custody. Several months later, in December 2005, Rabia was killed in Pakistan. Several months after that, in June of 2006, the terrorist Zarqawi was killed by American forces in Iraq. Successes like these are blows to al Qaeda. They're a testament to steps we have taken to strengthen our intelligence, work closely with partners overseas, and keep the pressure on the enemy by staying on the offense. (Applause.)

Despite our pressure, despite the setbacks that al Qaeda has suffered, it remains extremely dangerous. As we've surged our forces in Iraq, al Qaeda has responded with a surge of its own. The terrorists' goal in Iraq is to reignite sectarian violence and break support for the war here at home. And they believe they're succeeding. A few weeks ago, al Qaeda's number two, second in command, Zawahiri, issued a video in which he gloated that al Qaeda's "movement of violence" has "forced the Americans to accept a pullout -- about which they only differ in regard to its timing." We can expect al Qaeda to continue its campaign of high profile attacks, including deadly suicide bombings and assassinations. And as they do, our troops will face more fighting and increased risks in the weeks and months ahead.

The fight in Iraq is tough, but my point today to you is the fight is essential to our security -- al Qaeda's leaders inside and outside of Iraq have not given up on their objective of attacking America again. Now, many critics compare the battle in Iraq to the situation we faced in Vietnam. There are many differences between the two conflicts, but one stands out above all: The enemy in Vietnam had neither the intent nor the capability to strike our homeland. The enemy in Iraq does. Nine-eleven taught us that to protect the American people, we must fight the terrorists where they live so that we don't have to fight them where we live. (Applause.)

The question for our elected leaders is: Do we comprehend the danger of an al Qaeda victory in Iraq, and will we do what it takes to stop them? However difficult the fight in Iraq has become, we must win it. Al Qaeda is public enemy number one for Iraq's young democracy, and al Qaeda is public enemy number one for America, as well. And that is why we must support our troops, we must support the Iraqi government, and we must defeat al Qaeda in Iraq. (Applause.)

We're thankful to the military, the intelligence, and law enforcement personnel who work tirelessly to stop new attacks on our country. With every plot they foil, every terrorist they capture, we learn more about the enemy's plans and persistence. In the minds of al Qaeda leaders, 9/11 was just a down-payment on violence yet to come. It's tempting to believe that the calm here at home after September the 11th means that the danger to our country has passed. I see the intelligence every day. The danger has not passed. Here in America, we're living in the eye of a storm. All around us, dangerous winds are swirling, and these winds could reach our shores at any moment.

The men and women of the Coast Guard know how to navigate the storm. We're counting on you to help America weather the challenges that lie ahead. As you begin your Coast Guard careers, you can approach the future with confidence, because our nation has faced dangerous enemies before, and emerged victorious every time. Terrorists can try to kill the innocent, but they cannot kill the desire for liberty that burns in the hearts of millions across the earth. The power of freedom defeated the ideologies of fascism and communism in the last century, and freedom will defeat the hateful ideologies of the terrorists in this century.

Victory in this struggle will require valor and determination and persistence, and these qualities can be found in abundance in the Class of 2007. (Applause.)

Your class has chosen a motto: Let Courage Part the Seas. America will be counting on your courage in the years to come. You will take your oath as Coast Guard officers in a time of war, knowing all the risks your service entails. I thank each of you for your bold decision to wear the uniform. My call to you is this: Trust in the power of freedom to overcome tyranny and terror; show leadership in freedom's defense, and character in all you do; be ready for anything. The Coasties who came before you never thought they would be organizing a flotilla in New York Harbor, or patrolling distant coasts in the Persian Gulf. Like them, you will serve in ways you cannot imagine today. But if you bring the skills and creativity you learned at this Academy to every task, our nation's security will be in good hands. (Applause.)

You leave this Academy "strong in resolve to be worthy of the traditions of commissioned officers in the United States Coast Guard."

I respect your passion for service, and the courage of your choice. Your country is grateful, and proud of each of you. Congratulations. God bless. Semper Paratus. (Applause.)

Amnesty for Revolutionaries

Well ya’ll we have a revolution going on right now and most of America is blind to it, illegal immigrates are leading this revolution and our elected officials are supplying them with the means to carry on by granting them amnesty.

Wikipedia defines Revolution as:

A revolution (from Late Latin revolutio which means “a turn around”) is a significant change that usually occurs in a relatively short period of time. Variously defined revolutions have been happening throughout human history. They vary in terms of numbers of their participants (revolutionaries), means employed by them, duration, motivating ideology and many other aspects. They may result in a socio-political change in the socio-political institutions, or a major change in a culture or economy.

As the “Senate Puts Off Debate on Compromise Immigration Reform Bill” article from Fox News, I sit here in awe trying to figure out how our country became the battle ground for this revolution.

Now of course the definition that a revolution usually occurs in a short period of time does not apply here, as most of us know this issue has been around for years. The really sad part is that our government knew all about it and decided it would cost too much to do anything about the revolutionaries that were and still are attacking our country so they voted to give them amnesty instead.

In 2006 testimony given before the Senate, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff basically killed the idea of deportation saying that it would be “hugely, hugely difficult to do” and cost “billions and billions and billions of dollars.”
This was based on a study done by “The Center for American Progress” , known as a liberal think tank, released a study claiming that deportation is too expensive to be pursued as a realistic option in addressing America’s illegal immigration crisis. According to the center, it would cost more than $41 billion annually - roughly $7 billion more than the entire budget for the Department of Homeland Security - to implement an effective deportation program.

The report goes on to claim that it “helps illustrate the false allure of deportation as a response to our broken immigration system. Our nation needs comprehensive immigration reform, not unrealistic and costly ideas that drain the treasury with no benefit to our security.”

Whether or not deporting illegal aliens in this country cost as much as the report claims, the more serious issue is, in a time of global terrorism, can the U.S. government effectively monitor its borders and protect its people from this revolution.

This should not mean that we give these criminals amnesty or shouldn’t make our borders more secure. It should show our government that wasting time will only cost us more money, allow more criminals to cross over into our homeland, and give the jihadis a greater chance to infiltrate our land and attack the American people once again.

Why are these revolutionaries criminals; Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, “Improper Entry by Alien,” any citizen of any country other than the United States who:
• Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
• Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
• Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime. Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

By all definitions they are criminals. The correct term is illegal alien, but they are actually revolutionaries and terrorist who are slowly taking over our country.

Poll: Public Wants Illegals to Go Home

We keep hearing how hard liners on illegal immigration lost their elections last year and that is not true. Many of the Dems that won the elections ran on a hard line on illegal immigration. Well here are some reaal polls.

From The Eagle Forum:

Contrary to the new Senate bill, most Americans want less and not more immigration. When told the number of immigrants here and the number coming, 70 percent of voters said the level is too high, 19 percent said it is about right, and 5 percent said too low.

* 75% of Republicans said immigration is too high, 5% said too low.

* 69% of Democrats said immigration is too high, 6% said too low.

* 71% of self described moderates said immigration is too high, 4% said too low.

Public prefers that illegals go home, rather than be legalized. 58 percent of voters said they wanted illegals to go home, compared to 30 percent who favored legalization. The public still overwhelmingly supported enforcement over legalization even when many conditions are imposed on illegals like paying a fine, learning English and undergoing a background check.

Americans support enforcement to make illegals go home. When presented by itself, 79 percent of the public said they supported reducing the illegal immigrant population by increasing border enforcement, penalizing employers, and increasing cooperation with local law enforcement, while 15 percent were opposed. No other proposal had near this level of support.

And from the Center for Immigration studies last year...

WASHINGTON , D.C. (October 16, 2006) -- A new poll, using neutral language, finds intense voter concern over immigration in 14 tight congressional races. The surveys were conducted by the polling company for the Center for Immigration Studies.

In addition to a national survey, detailed polling on immigration was conducted in four contested Senate races (click on the state/district to see the results): Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Montana; and in 10 contested House races: Arizona 5^th, Connecticut 4^th, Indiana 8^th, Kentucky 4^th, Pennsylvania 6^th, Texas 17^th, Louisiana 3^rd, Georgia 8^th, Colorado 7^th, and Ohio 6^th.

Among the findings:

• Immigration is a big issue throughout country. Of likely voters nationally, 53 percent said immigration was either their most important issue or one of their top three issues, while just 8 percent said it was not at all important. With the exception of CT-4^th, in races surveyed only about 10 percent of voters said it was not important at all.
  

• When told numbers, voters want less immigration. When told the actual number of immigrants here (legal and illegal) and the number coming (legal and illegal), and asked to put aside the question of legal status, 68 percent of voters nationally thought immigration was too high, 21 percent about right, and just 2 percent thought it was too low. In every congressional race surveyed, the share who said overall immigration was too low was in the single digits.
  

• Voters less likely to vote for immigration-increasing candidates. Experts agree that the bill recently passed by the Senate would at least double future legal immigration, yet 70 percent of voters said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate who wanted to double legal immigration. Overwhelming majorities in every battleground race feel the same way.
  

• Voters reject extremes of legalization or mass deportations. Some previous polls have shown support for legalizing illegal immigrants.; But those polls have given the public only a choice between large-scale deportations or an earned legalization, and not the third choice of across-the-board enforcement, causing illegals to go home. This third option, which is the basis of the bill passed by the US House, is voters’ top choice.
  

• U.S. House immigration plan by far the favorite. Enforcement approaches with no increase in legal immigration were the most popular policy option -- 44 percent wanted enforcement that causes illegals to go home, the US House’s approach, and another 20 percent wanted large-scale deportations. Just 31 percent supported a legalization.
  

• Intensity stronger among enforcement supporters. Nationally, 32 percent of voters said they would be much more likely to vote for a candidate who would enforce the law and cause illegals to go home, compared to just 15 percent who said they would be much more likely to vote for a candidate who supports legalization. This same pattern holds in battleground contests.
  

• Voters skeptical of need for unskilled immigrant labor. More than 70 percent of voters nationally agreed that there were, “plenty of Americans to do low-wage jobs that require relatively little education, employers just need to pay higher wages and treat workers better to attract Americans,” compared to 21 percent who said we need immigrants because there were not enough Americans to do all such jobs. The results were very similar in all the contested states and districts surveyed.
  

• Voters think lack of enforcement is reason for illegal immigration. Three out of four voters in the nation agreed that the reason we have illegal immigration is that past enforcement efforts have before “grossly inadequate.” Voters strongly reject the argument that illegal immigration is caused by overly restrictive legal immigration policies. Strong majorities in every battleground contest surveyed felt this way.
  

• Numbers make a difference. One key finding is that when told the scale of immigration (legal and illegal), voters overwhelming thought it was too high. Also when told how much the Senate bill would increase legal immigration voters tended to reject it. This would seem to undermine the argument that voters are only concerned about illegality and not the level of immigration. The level of immigration used in the questions are those widely agreed upon by experts based on government data.

While the Congress is trying to find ways of letting illegal aliens stay in this country, we the people want them gone. You need to tell your elected cockroaches how you feel because they don't get it.

Winter Storm Hits Rocky Mountains, Montana

My internet has been down all morning and may go out again at any minute. I use satellite internet, so big storms do affect it.

It has been snowing heavily since midnight last night. My wife had to reschedule all her patients until tomorrow. I just love when this kind of thing happens in Montana. I hope it chases away a bunch of Left coasters that have moved here! LOL!

How a Bill Becomes Law

Well, considering how the Democrats completely by-passed the legislative process for making a bill a law, I thought a civics lesson was in order. This is from my childhood, we need to bring these commercials back. This was unbelievable how they fast tracked this immigration bill.


That, is how it is SUPPOSED to work

Oh yeah, the immigration bill passed cloture easily with 69 votes, but there will now be 2 weeks of debate. Another anomaly, they used a cloture vote to allow debate and it is traditionally used for stopping debate and moving to a vote. It seems the Democrats have tossed out the rule book.

Senate Bill 1348 Immigration Bill

I am watching the debate on SB 1348 a bill that did NOT go through conference committee and has not even been put in legislative form or printed. Senator Session did a great job of tearing apart this nightmare of legislation that will be almost 1000 pages when put into legislative form. "Harry Droopy Dog" Reid is having a cloture vote at 5:30pm, not on this bill but last years immigration Bill and then later replaced by this Bill. This is not the way our government is supposed to work. But the Bill is a profoundly bad bill for the American people. They have not even asked for a report on the cost of implementing this bill. You need to call your Senators today before 5pm eastern time and ask them to vote NO on cloture.

“Like the amnesty bill of 1986, the current Senate proposal would place those who have resided illegally in the United States on a path to citizenship, provided they meet a similar set of conditions and pay a fine and back taxes. The illegal immigrant does not go to the back of the line but gets immediate legalized status, while law-abiding applicants (WILL STILL) wait in their home countries for years to even get here.



1 Temporary Worker Program That’s Neither Temporary nor Work-Based

The bill would allow millions of illegal immigrants to qualify for permanent green cards within four years. Additionally, the Senate approved an amendment that each year would allow up to 200,000 immigrants who cross the border illegally and work just six days a year (including self employment) to qualify for a permanent green card. Proof of work history requires only that they have affidavits from non-relatives.




2 Unprecedented Wave of Immigrants: 66 Million Over 20 Years

This bill is estimated to skyrocket the number of immigrants, from its current level of 19 million over the next 20 years, to an unprecedented number. Heritage Foundation: “…[O]ur estimate of the number of legal immigrants who would enter the country or would gain legal status under S 2611 … [would be] 66 million over the next 20 years.”


3 Insufficient Border Security

The Senate REJECTED an amendment to the bill to prohibit the implementation of any guest-worker program that grants legal status to those who have entered the country illegally until the secretary of Homeland security has certified to the President and Congress that the border security provisions in the bill are fully funded and operational.
SEC 103 (a):
Construction of Border Control Facilities- Subject to the availability of appropriations, the Secretary shall construct all-weather roads and acquire additional vehicle barriers and facilities necessary to achieve operational control of the international borders of the United States.
“SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF APPROPRIATIONS……..(means they don’t have to do it)



4 Terrorist Loophole Disarms Law Enforcement

Heritage Foundation reported May 24, 2006: “The Senate’s immigration reform proposal… would restrict local police to arresting aliens for criminal violations of immigration law only, not civil violations. The results would be disastrous. All of the hijackers on [9/11] who committed immigration violations committed civil violations. Under the bill, police officers would have no power to arrest such terrorists.”



5 Social Security Benefits, Tax Credits for Illegal Work

The Senate REJECTED an amendment to the bill to prevent Social Security benefits from being awarded to immigrants for time that they worked illegally in the United States. If the Senate bill were enacted into law, an estimated 12 million illegal workers would be able to use their illegal work to qualify for Social Security benefits.



6 $50 Billion a Year for Federal Government, States Foot Bill for Health Care

Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation described the bill as a “fiscal catastrophe,” and has said the measure would prove to be the largest expansion of government welfare in 35 years, increasing long-term federal spending by at least $50 billion a year. The Senate bill does not reimburse state and local governments for health care and education costs . (Means you will pay the entire cost)


7 Hurts Small Business

The Senate approved an amendment to the bill extending Davis-Bacon “prevailing wage” provisions for guest workers, but not American citizens, in all occupations covered by Davis-Bacon (currently limited to federally paid work). Small businesses would be forced to pay inflated wages to guest workers above the pay Americans receive for the same work. Of course the National Chamber of Commerce doesn’t work for small businesses…..



8 Gives Immigrant Workers Greater Job Protection Than American Workers

As reported by Robert Novak: “The bill supposedly would protect American workers by ensuring that new immigrants would not take away jobs. However, the bill’s definition of ‘United States worker’ includes temporary foreign guest workers, so the protection is meaningless … Foreign guest farm workers, admitted under the bill, cannot be ‘terminated from employment by any employer … except for just cause.’ In contrast, American ag workers can be fired for any reason.”



9 Weak Assimilation and English Requirements

The Senate approved an amendment by Sen. James Inhofe (R.-Okla.) to make English the national language and require those seeking citizenship to demonstrate English proficiency and understanding of U.S. history. However, a far weaker amendment gutted the Inhofe amendment, leaving it in doubt, and giving immigrants the right to demand the federal government communicate with them in any language they choose.

Remember, these are Conservative blogs with conservative readers. For the last few years most of these folks have been ardent supporters of the President and the Conservative perspective.

We tend to be principled pragmatists as are most Americans. Our leadership has zombied out and we can see it…..it’s agonizing.

This latest blow (the immigration Bill fiasco) is very real to Americans. Our leaders have lost their minds if they think they can get this past us. Their change is obvious and is beginning to meet real resistance.
We’re tough too. Most of us can admit our mistakes and move on and make wiser decisions based on our mistakes. Americans understand that and are willing to accept us because they understand we are all imperfect.
Watching these readers perspective move from loyalty to skepticism to cynicism and now to disgust has been disheartening but enlightening…and in some ways reassuring.
Rather than excusing the abandonment of principle by the people they elect, they are confronting and rejecting it.

SO……Bush has failed as a conservative leader and he’s dragging us down. His ecstatic support of this sorry excuse for a solution to our immigration problems is gut wrenching for those Americans who believe in common sense, equity and the rule of law.

The Republican disaffection has been a result what our representatives are doing…it is the abandonment of the ideals of the people they claim to represent. The best example were the slate of idiots buffoons and pretty boys we presented to the American people last November. There wasn’t a one in the bunch that inspired passion or vision. Worse than that, they were lying to us saying they were “Bona fide”…..and they weren’t….and now they’re proving it.
They’re becoming the things of our nightmares.


It’s as if an entire city of men and women who once were respected and trusted by millions of Americans has become an army of arm flailing, zombified Republicans staggering aimlessly around Washington moaning…..”BRAINS….WE NEED BRAINS.”
They sure could use some, but their base is no longer willing to cut them any slack.

They have become our enemy……..

These commenters love the Republican Party. It used to stand for the things they believed in. The immigration Amnesty Bill is Bushes last attempt to gain some kind of legacy. If it passes with the help of leaders who have abandoned the majority of Americans, he will have his legacy.
It won’t be pretty.

The Immigration bill is one of the single worst pieces of legislation I have ever read. It’s so poorly written and so full of loopholes and inconsistencies it almost appears to be intentionally crafted to fail. The people who wrote it and those who support it are plain and simple lying to us. A clear majority of Americans don’t support it’s main premise….Amnesty for a group of people who intentionally broke our laws and continue to do so with impunity.
And if that’s not enough………It’s so sloppily written, it wont even do the BAD things it is intended to do!

The requirement to pay the fine and “go home” is unenforceable

I’d say the progress on the mythical fence that was approved last year tells us everything we need to know about whether or not there will be a good-faith enforcement effort.

So, are we now to accept that the federal government (the same federal government that put us in this position through its gross incompetence) will become competent overnight in its ability to manage illegal immigration, and the 12 to 20 million illegals already here?

It’s clear that our senators do not represent us in anything more than the barest sense of the word at this point.

Since our lawmakers have basically flipped us the bird, we need to take matters into our own hands. Obviously, we need not vote for these traitors again.

If an alien is ordered to be removed due to the fact that he/she did not submit to inspection on reentering the US, remained past their authorized date, failed to maintain “legal” status while in the US (whatever the hell that means), or if their leaving would cause their family “hardship,” they CONTINUE TO REMAIN ELIGIBLE for adjustment to lawful resident status.

They’re going to vote on this bill this coming week — bizarrely, before they’ve even let the American public know what it says.
If I’m being single-issue, it’s because they’re trying to sneak this past everyone before the public even knows there’s a major, major bill about to be passed (and signed into law) or what the hell it actually says.

A few other tidbits (all in summary form):

•The draft includes $400M to process criminal illegal aliens.
Wait! I thought that they were all hard-working people who just wanted to come here for a better life. You mean some of them might be criminals?!

•It also allows for “sufficient transportation and officers to take illegal aliens apprehended by State and local law enforcement officers into custody for processing at a detention facility…”
What happens then? I’m so glad you asked! Alternatives to detention still include “release on order of recognizance.” So, it’s just business-as-usual boys and girls!

•Proof of work history requires only that they have affidavits from non-relatives.
So they can line up on the south side, say “Si! I have lived in los Estados Unidos for cinco anos, so I am eligible to become a nonimmigrant! Here are my amigos who will tell you the truth!”

•Taxes – they don’t get to file for refunds prior to FY2006.
Boo freakin’ hoo.

•Siblings (under 18) and ex-spouses also have the right to jump to the front of the line.
Yes, that’s EX-spouses. Everyone knows you can’t move to a new country without bringing along all your old baggage!

Quite possibly my (sarc)favorite(\sarc) one:
SEC 922 of Title 18 will be amended to allow “nonimmigrants” (yep, that beats “illegal aliens” any day) to own firearms.
Yippee ki yi yay!! I just can’t wait for the next Cinco de Mayo!!

Sorry, I know that this is long, and I’m preaching to the choir, but I am just sick today as I watch the greatest country on earth implode. Every last one of these @ssh0les who votes for this crap, or does not work hard enough against it, needs to be voted out of office as soon as we get the chance.

This ridiculous compromise will have a tsunami effect and will send hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants clamoring across the border to get in on the amnesty. There is absolutely no way to confirm how long they have been here. Another absolute failure spearheaded by the insanity of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

I’d swear, if space aliens landed in Washington D.C. and spent some time observing what’s going on there, they could be excused for concluding that Mexico had recently defeated the United States in a war and was proceeding with colonization of its conquered territory via its puppet government here.

It’s dismaying and disgusting in equal measure to watch the self-destruction of the Republican Party that’s gone on since 2004 and shows no signs of slowing down. I have no idea what they’re thinking in the Senate, but from this angle the consequences are readily foreseeable:

Millions of illegal aliens will soon become “legal” - and eventually become “citizens” - for no other reason than a collapse of the Republican party’s political will on an issue that the majority of Americans would support them if they only had courage.

Few, very few of the new “voters” are going to be voting Republican, contrary to the apparent delusional thinking that must be going on in the minds of the Republican party’s leadership.

Anyone who thinks that this capitulation isn’t going to see a flood of untold millions more illegals in the next few years is a fool

Fighting in Lebanon

I am sitting here watching the news cover the fighting in Lebanon. It is stated that yet another terrorist faction in the Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon left the camps and attacked the Lebanese army. The Army has responded with shelling of the camp, which is on going. They cannot go into the camps because of some strange agreement with the Palestinian Liberation Organization who is responsible for controlling the place. The AP has the story just released 8 minutes ago.

Meanwhile, Hamas has been rocketing Israel and Israel has been hitting Hamas with air strikes. The Middle East seems like it has returned to the good old days...

Mexicans Fear U.S. Immigration Plan

At the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey, which hands out more temporary work visas than anywhere else in the world, Edmundo Bermudez, a 36-year-old from the northern city of Durango, was especially offended by reports that preference would be given to migrants with degrees and specialized skills.

"The United States already has enough people with college degrees. Who is going to cut their tobacco?" asked Bermudez, who has been working intermittently in the U.S. for the past eight years. In Mexico, he makes about $10 a day, while in the U.S. he earns $8 an hour.[snip]

Mexican newspaper and television news broadcasts led with news of the proposal Friday, with El Universal newspaper headlines reading: "Immigration reform divides the United States" and "Latinos: It isn't what we hoped for."

Gilberto Escalante, a 41-year-old fisherman from Topolobampo in Sinaloa state, said the current guest worker program is better than the congressional plan because it gives Mexicans the option to freely enter and leave the U.S. while maintaining their lives in Mexico - instead of forcing them to choose between the two countries.

"We don't want the house or the latest car in the U.S. We want to go and work so that our families can have a good life in Mexico," said Escalante, who came to the industrial hub of Monterrey to apply for a visa to work on fish and shrimp boats off the coast of Mississippi.

Yet the congressional plan came as welcome news to the millions of Mexicans who depend on the $23 billion sent home each year by Mexicans living in the U.S., many illegally.

Yeah, it is great for Mexico and a disaster for the U.S. This Bill allows all of the illegal aliens to remain in this country indefinitely. Mostly poor, hispanic socialists who would almost exclusively vote democrat and for social programs.

Did I mention it actually decreases the size of the fence? Yup, from over 700 miles to just over 300 miles. You remember the fence Bill was signed into law last year and no construction was ever started.

The proposal would allow illegal immigrants to obtain a "Z visa" and ultimately get on track for permanent residency, which could take between eight and 13 years. Heads of households would have to return to their home countries first.

It is also good news for the Mexican government, which has spent years lobbying the U.S. for a comprehensive immigration reform that allows more people to work legally in the U.S. Many had feared the U.S. would only approve more border security measures, such as adding to National Guard troops at the border and other high-tech security measures.

Gee, How do the illegal aliens feel about this bill...

They said key components of the proposed deal regarding illegal immigrants, such as having to return to their home countries to apply for legal residency and pay a $5,000 (€3,700) fine, would be financially impossible for low-wage earners.

Many also said stepped up raids over the past year made them distrustful that U.S. immigration authorities would let them return to America.

"If I go home, who is going to guarantee that I'll be let back in?" said David Guerra, 44, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

Guerra, who works as a day laborer in Los Angeles, said his wife and four children survive off the $300 (€222) he sends home each month.

Missing several weeks of work to return home, plus paying the fine and thousands of dollars in application fees, would be disastrous for his family, Guerra said.

Amy Ndour, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from Senegal who lives in New York, said she would be willing to pay the $5,000 fine, but not to return home because her family there depends on what she earns as a hair braider.

"I'm helping myself" here, she said. "I'm helping people there too."[snip]

Some illegal immigrants said returning home presented another major hurdle: having to apply for residency at U.S. embassies in their home countries.

Carlos Velazquez, a 40-year-old illegal immigrant in Los Angeles, said the lines at embassies in his native Honduras are so long that people often have to pay bribes just to get in the door. Velazquez said he applied twice for visas in Honduras, and both times had to pay several bribes to local embassy staff.[snip]

Family connections alone would no longer be enough to qualify for a green card — except for spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens — and new limits would apply to U.S. citizens seeking to bring foreign-born parents into the country.

Many illegal immigrants said they had little incentive to apply for residency because the process was long and did not give them much hope of bringing their families.

"If I'll never be able to bring my family, why should I apply?" said Jose Monson, a 33-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala who has lived in Los Angeles four years. "I prefer to just stay here illegally."

"If I get deported and need to cross the border again, that's not a problem," he said.

Awe, aren't they sweet people? The nerve of our government not to give them blanket amnesty for free and allow as many Mexicans to come here that want to come here.

SB 1348 will destroy our country. It will be the first step towards communism/socialism in this country. We need to call the Senate and tell our elected cockroaches that this is NOT their last best chance to deal with this issue. Tell them to secure the border and enforce the laws on the books. If we increase deportations by just 20% we can deport all the illegal aliens by 2015 while preserving the rule of law. We cannot legalize poor socialists that have no respect for the rule of law or private property rights.

Rough Week!

This has been a rough and busy week. The weekend I went away for my birthday, then ,my pick-up broke down, I had my therapy on Wednesday and finally and the worse, my dog has a NON Malignant tumor on her paw and the vet wants 1000.00 to fix her. I am going to get a second opinion next week and in the meantime try more alternative treatments. Pray for Shorsha the dog, because she truly is a fantastic dog...

Mayor Lou Barletta Wins One - Twice!

Hazleton, Pennsylvania Mayor Lou Barletta won the Hazleton election on Tuesday.

TWICE!!!

And by a LANDSLIDE!

Barletta, known for taking care of his citizens at the risk of being labeled a racist, a xenophobe, and even after being sued for his stance against illegal aliens and the cost to his community, proved to Washington that doing the right thing for the American citizens has its rewards.

GREAT REWARDS!

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta, who gained national attention by targeting illegal immigrants living in his small northeastern Pennsylvania city, cruised to the Republican nomination for a third term on Tuesday — and unexpectedly won the Democratic nomination, too.

Barletta trounced GOP challenger Dee Deakos with nearly 94 percent of the vote. And he beat former Mayor Michael Marsicano for the Democratic nomination by staging a last-minute write-in campaign, all but guaranteeing himself another term, unofficial returns showed.

“I think the message is clear,” Barletta said. “The people of Hazleton want me to keep fighting for them.”

The Republican mayor said Democrats kept telling him they wished they could vote for him in the primary. So, about a week ago, he mailed instructions to Democratic voters on how to write in his name.

And what did those flyers say? The Standard Speaker, PA reported over the weekend:

Barletta’s campaign mailed out flyers Thursday asking Democrats to write him in.

“Go to the polls and write in Lou Barletta for mayor,” the flyer screams. “Democrats – it’s easy to write in Lou Barletta for mayor. Take this to the polls with you.”

The flyer also gives detail instructions on how to do it.

Our elected officials would do well to look up from their delusional amnesty legislation meetings long enough to notice that there is a star on our east coast. To be more accurate, there is a rising star in Hazleton who actually erased the aisle between his Republican and Democratic constituents. He didn’t do it with backdoor secret meetings. He didn’t do it by appeasing his lobbyists. He didn’t do it by cowering from his responsibilities or by running from his duty to protect his city.

No.

He chose a different path. He chose to do the right thing. And for that, he has overcome the bitter partisan politics in this nation and has united - and received the support of - his entire city.

Giuliani and NAFTA, say it’s not so

More than one source is connecting Rudy Giuliani to the NAFTA superhighway and Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) highway system. Is there really a connection or is this an effort to smear Giuliani?

Here's the story:

The Giuliani connection to this controversial process is through Bracewell & Giuliani, a law firm he joined as senior partner in 2005. Bracewell has already come in for criticism because it represents Citgo, the oil company controlled by Venezuela's anti-American and terrorist-supporting ruler Hugo Chavez.

Freelance columnist Dianne M. Grassi broke the story of Giuliani's law firm acting as the exclusive legal counsel for Cintra, the Spanish firm that has been granted the right to operate a toll road in the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) project. Grassi comments, "Most interesting to the whole story is not only has Mr. Giuliani's involvement in the NAFTA Superhighway not ever having been publicly addressed, but how a foreign company is awarded the building of a mass highway system, versus maintaining it, for the first time in U.S. history, and negotiated by the law firm of the top Republican candidate running for President of the United States. And truly disturbing is how such will not only have national and homeland security and sovereignty implications but how it is deliberately being kept away from the Halls of Congress." (Canada Free Press)

The Washington Post article begins in December 2001, when Giuliani began his new firm. The article lists Giuliani's partners, (some with questionable acts in their past), clients, (check it out), money, international connections, and more. Also the comments to the WaPo article a interesting.

The letter he dispatched to the city Conflicts of Interest Board that day asked permission to begin forming a consulting firm with three members of his outgoing administration. The company, Giuliani said, would provide "management consulting service to governments and business" and would seek out partners for a "wide-range of possible business, management and financial services" projects.

Over the next five years, Giuliani Partners earned more than $100 million, according to a knowledgeable source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the firm's financial information is private. And that success helped transform the Republican considered the front-runner for his party's 2008 presidential nomination from a moderately well-off public servant into a globe-trotting consultant whose net worth is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. On NAFTA and TCC:

Evidence shows that NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement involving the U.S., Canada and Mexico, is being expanded without congressional approval or oversight as part of a plan to create an economic and political entity known as the North American Union (NAU). Federal documents uncovered by Judicial Watch quote participants in the scheme as saying that an "evolution by stealth" strategy is being used to put the pieces into place. Documents also speak of developing a common security perimeter and a common identification card for citizens of the three countries.

Resolutions against the NAU have been introduced in 14 state legislatures-and have passed in two-and thousands of people have turned out in Texas to protest a Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) highway system, which will link the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Critics say the project is being funded by foreign interests, could run roughshod over private property rights, and could facilitate illegal activities, such as the trafficking of people and drugs, from Mexico. Senate Amnesty Agreement Reached

Senator Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid along with Presidential hopeful John McCain are proudly touting an agreement reached to provide amnesty to the approximately 20 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S. If you haven't contacted your Senators and Congressmen yet, now is the time to do so.

The plan includes the following provisions:

1. It provides amnesty for illegal aliens who came to this country prior to January 1, 2007 (How exactly you are to prove when an illegal came here is beyond me.), who have paid taxes, and do not have a criminal record.

2. It creates a new "Z" visa which will be issued to the previouosly mentioned group of illegal aliens that would allow them to stay and work in the U.S.

3. The head of the illegal alien household will be given 8 years to return to their country of origin and pay a fine of $5,000 to achieve U.S. citizenship.

4. Illegal aliens with "Z" visas not wanting citizenship will be able to renew their "Z" visa indifinetely allowing them to stay and work in the U.S.

5. A new guest worker visa will be created that allows a foreign worker to come to the U.S. and work for two years. It can then be renewed up to 3 times.

6. It decreases the length of the border fence called for in previously passed legislation from 750 miles to 370.

7. It calls for the hiring of 18,000 new border patrol agents (who we assume are being hired to replace the agents the federal government has been throwing in jail for protecting the U.S. from drug smugglers and other criminals).

Senator Kennedy stated the President has agreed to sign the bill. Thus, the only thing between amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens and law and order is the Democrat controlled House.

We can only hope the bi-annually elected House members will be more receptive to the will of the people and reject this disgraceful piece of legislation.

Building the Democrat Party One Illegal Alien at a Time

Today we sit on the precipice of disaster. Word is coming down from sources inside Washington that Senate Republicans are close to coming to an agreement with the White House and Senate Democrats on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that will provide amnesty to the nearly 20 million illegal immigrants currently in the U.S.
If this happens not only will our welfare system be strained further as more illegal aliens will stream across the border hoping for another amnetsy but the Democrat party will have a strangle hold on our federally elected offices. Here is what several leading Democrats have to say about it:

Top Democratic leaders and activists see Hispanic migration as a long-term opportunity for the party. The arrival of additional immigrant workers is bad for blue-collars," Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, told National Journal late last year. But immigrants can help elect Democratic majorities, and if [a Democratic Congress] were to significantly strengthen unions, then you would offset the negative effect on the income of workers," he said. (National Journal, 5/12/07)

"Somehow," said a Democrat lawmaker who is trying to build Republican support, "we have to convince them that voting for comprehensive reform does not amount to 'enfranchising their defeat,'" a reference to the likelihood that two of every three new Latino voters would cast Democratic ballots. Our problem," he admitted, is that we are hoping that the legislation will build the Democratic electorate." (National Journal, 2/10/07)

Democratic leaders say Republican backing is critical, both to ensure passage of a bill in the Senate and to protect newly elected moderate and conservative Democrats in the House, some of whom campaigned against legalizing illegal immigrants. (New York Times, 3/23/ 07)

"As the number of legal Hispanics increases, the number of Democratic votes increases as well." (Democratic "insider", National Journal, 4/14/07)

"Taking immigration off the table as a red-meat issue for conservative Republicans would be very helpful in a presidential year . . . ." (Democratic Insider", National Journal, 4/14/07)

Iraq withdrawal move thwarted in Senate

Since I told you about all this nonsense yesterday, I thought you would like to know the outcome of the hezbocrats playing politics with our troops...

The Senate on Wednesday rejected legislation that would cut off money for combat operations in
Iraq after March 31, 2008.

The vote was a loss for Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., and other Democrats who want to end the war. But the effort picked up support from members, including presidential hopefuls previously reluctant to limit war funding — an indication of the conflict's unpopularity among voters.

The proposal lost 29-67 on a procedural vote, falling 31 votes short of the necessary votes to advance.

The Senate also narrowly rejected a proposal by Republican moderates intended to restrict U.S. aid for Iraq, after Democratic leaders lashed out against the proposal as too weak. The 52-44 vote was widely supported by Republicans, but fell eight votes shy of the required 60.

The Senate agreed only on a nonbinding resolution expressing the need to pass a war spending bill by Memorial Day. That proposal passed by an 87-9 vote.

The other more controversial proposals had been expected to fall short of the 60 votes needed to advance under Senate rules, but was intended to gauge the tolerance of members on anti-war legislation. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record) staged a series of war votes Wednesday to inform negotiations with the House on a war spending bill.

"We stand united.... in our belief that troops are enmeshed in an intractable civil war," said Reid, D-Nev.

Feingold's measure, co-sponsored by Reid and Sen. Christopher Dodd (news, bio, voting record), D-Conn., proved divisive for Democrats. On the final vote, 19 Democrats joined 47 Republicans and Connecticut Independent Joseph Lieberman (news, bio, voting record) in opposing the measure. Of the 29 supporting were 28 Democrats and Vermont Independent Bernard Sanders (news, bio, voting record).

Sen. Carl Levin (news, bio, voting record), chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said he opposes any measure that cuts off money for the war.

"We don't want to send the message to the troops" that Congress does not support them, said Levin, D-Mich. "We're going to support those troops."

But other Democrats said the move was necessary.

"I'm not crazy about the language in the Feingold amendment, but I am crazy about the idea that we have to keep the pressure on," said Sen. Joseph Biden (news, bio, voting record), D-Del., who also wants the Democratic presidential nomination.

The second measure, drafted by Sen. John Warner (news, bio, voting record), would have threatened billions of dollars in U.S. aid to Iraq if Baghdad failed to implement certain political and security reforms. But in a last-minute change to the proposal to gain White House acceptance, Warner added a provision allowing the president to waive the restriction.

It "is really very tepid, very weak," said Reid, who supports cutting off funding for combat next year. "A cup of tea that's been sitting on the counter for a few weeks. ... You wouldn't want to drink that tea. You wouldn't want to vote for this amendment."

Warner, R-Va., defended the measure as carefully negotiated and "a good-faith effort to do my very best."

Ultimately, his proposal won support of 44 GOP members, seven Democrats and Lieberman. Opposing the legislation were Sanders, 40 Democrats and three Republicans.

The votes came as the Democratic-controlled Congress struggles to clear legislation for Bush's signature by the end of next week to continue U.S. military operations through Sept. 30.

The House last week passed legislation funding the war on two separate, 60-day installments.

The Senate must take the next step by passing its own measure. Given the political forces at work, that legislation will be a placeholder, its only purpose to trigger three-way negotiations involving the House, Senate and Bush administration on a final compromise.

As a result, officials said Tuesday that Reid and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (news, bio, voting record) had discussed jointly advancing a bill so barebones that it would contain no funds and do little more than express congressional support for the troops.

Negotiations on the final compromise are expected to take days.

As is the case with this Congress, they have accomplished NOTHING. If this keeps up this Congress will go down in history as the "Do Nothing" Congress. The Dems are even worse than I predicted, you would think the party would know how to be a majority party, but they have moved so far Left, they are lost.

Wake up Harry "Droopy Dog" Reid, pass a clean bill funding our troops in harms way and stop the politics.

UB's Birthday!

I have been reminded that I did not post about the fact May 14th was my birthday. Sorry, I guess birthdays are not that big a deal to me, always other things to worry about.

I went Friday and Saturday to my friend's house in the state capitol. Man, I hate the city, but i like my friend. Saturday we went up into the hills to shoot a variety of firearms and had a great time.

Legal shields pushed for terrorism tipsters

The Washington Times reports that there is a bi-partisan bill in the House and the Senate to protect we the people from being sued for reporting suspicious behavior. The goal is to encourage we the people to report any suspicious activity or behavior that might stop a terrorist attack. This is in response to the "flying imams" threat to sue the passengers that reported their wildly strange behavior to the flight crew, causing them to be removed from the plane. Senate Democratic leaders yesterday injected the Iraq war debate into a $14 billion water projects bill, offering two troop-withdrawal amendments to help gauge Republican solidarity with President Bush.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada co-sponsored both amendments with fellow Democrats; one with Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin that would restrict war funds to noncombat operations, and the other with Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan that would pull out troops if the Iraqi government does not meet policy benchmarks.

The Reid-Levin amendment is the less severe of the two, allowing Mr. Bush to waive the troop-withdrawal requirement provided he explain the continued deployment to Congress every 90 days.
"This is an opportunity to see how far Republicans will go on the supplemental," a top Democratic aide said.
Votes on the amendments are expected today, while negotiations continue on a $100 billion emergency supplemental package to pay for the war until Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year.

The Hezbocrats are at it again. What does a water project bill have to do with fighting the peace in Iraq? I think the hezbocrats are over reaching on this issue. Their base wants them to defund the war and most Americans do not like playing politics with funding our troops in harms way.

SB 15: Increases penalty for driving without a license. Passed - but not signed by Governor Perdue, yet.

SB 23: Clarifies that judges and parole board members can consider criminal's immigration status. Passed

SB 38: Requires Georgia driver's license or ID card to receive car tag. Passed - but also not signed by Governor Perdue, yet.

SB 100: Increases penalties for manufacturing, selling or distributing fake IDs that illegal aliens use daily. Passed

HB 21: Prohibits government from printing official documents in any language other than English. No final vote - still in committee

HB 43: Requires Georgia voters to prove they are U.S. citizens when registering to vote. Failed.

HB 72: Requires colleges and universities to more closely track foreign students. Failed.

HB 274: Tightens requirements for becoming a notary public, including proof of legal immigration status. Passed.

HB 472: Clarifies that insurance companies can provide policies in languages other than English. Failed.

HB 605: Kills law barring government hiring of foreign nationals for jobs U.S. citizens can do. Failed.

HR 127: Urges the U.S. Congress to halt birthright citizenship for children ( Anchor babies) of illegal aliens. Failed.

SR 124: Resolution opposing any U.S. involvement in the Security and Prosperity Partnership and open borders with that paradise to our south...Mexico, as well as Canada. Failed.

Suit: Teacher Showed 'Brokeback' in Class

A girl and her grandparents have sued the Chicago Board of Education, alleging that a substitute teacher showed the R-rated film "Brokeback Mountain" in class.

The lawsuit claims that Jessica Turner, 12, suffered psychological distress after viewing the movie in her eighth-grade class at Ashburn Community Elementary School last year.

The film, which won three Oscars, depicts two cowboys who conceal their homosexual affair.

Turner and her grandparents, Kenneth and LaVerne Richardson, are seeking around $500,000 in damages.

"It is very important to me that my children not be exposed to this," said Kenneth Richardson, Turner's guardian. "The teacher knew she was not supposed to do this."

According to the lawsuit filed Friday in Cook County Circuit Court, the video was shown without permission from the students' parents and guardians. Richardson had previously complained to school officials about reading material he said contained curse words.

Gay couples: civil unions not enough; ask Conn. court for marriage

An attorney for eight gay couples told the state Supreme Court Monday that their constitutional rights have been violated by the state's refusal to grant them marriage licenses.

Connecticut was the first state to allow civil unions without court pressure, but the couples say that's not enough.

They want the court to rule that the state's marriage law is unconstitutional because it applies only to heterosexual couples, effectively denying gay couples the financial, social and emotional benefits of marriage.

I keep telling you it is not about legal protections, it is about normalizing their lifestyle. They will never settle for civil unions because it does not make them socially equal to heterosexuals. Marriage is a construct of religion, not the government. It is also not mentioned in the constitution. It has been around for thousands of years and is the union between a man and a woman. the government got involved because they wanted to control it to prevent close relatives, like brother and sister, from marrying. The government and courts have no right to re-define marriage. I am so tired of the tyranny of the minority in this country.

Radical Militant Islamic Compounds exist in the USA

The Canadian Free Press reports that there are Militant Islamic Training Compounds littered across the USA! This terrorist group[ has not even been put on the U.S. Terrorist watch list! You must go read this article it needs to be read in its entirety. It is all African-Americans requited mostly from our prison systems and they are now giving their members the same terrorist training they use to receive by going to Pakistan. I just don't understand our government. When white Christians create a compound and stock pile weapons the government attacks them, but when African-American Muslims do much worse, they do nothing. We are in such trouble folks, our country is being invaded by south of the border illegal aliens that want part of America for their own and we have muslim militants in compounds all over our country. Yeah, you all just keep being P.C., talk about diversity and social justice and there won't be a USA, as we know and love it, any longer.

The Coming Revolution According to America Libre

A few weeks ago, I posted a piece called Illegal Immigration has the American People Cornered. The post served as a commentary on the disenfranchisement of American citizens. It looked at all of the avenues concerned citizens across the country have used to battle illegal immigration including legislative and judiciary action. Despite using almost all procedures afforded to us by the Constitution, this nation’s political elite still refuses the will of the majority the nations people. The post pointed out that there was one mechanism that was left for the people to employ as outlined by our Declaration of Independence.

While most feedback I received on the post was positive, one comment sticks in my mind.

“It was my interpretation that the [CTP] doesn’t want illegals here under any circumstance (did you look at the website?) You know my position on illegal immigration; however, the [CTP] appears to be ready to start a revolution against our current government IMO“.

In a response to this poster, I explained that inciting a revolution was not my intent. Rather my intent was merely to share my observations of disturbing events.

In light of this post and some of the sentiment it created, I found an article about a book called “America Libre” (ISBN: 0-595-42606-9), of great interest.

“a fictional book by Raul Ramos y Sanchez, highlights the growing social tension caused by illegal immigration and shows a possible outcome of the crisis - a civil war that leads to the redrawing of America’s borders.”

“with its controversial storyline - a possible insurrection within the United States sparked by the growing backlash against illegal immigration”

“It depicts the possible nightmare scenario of a United States torn with riots, revolution, and eventual civil war fueled by the backlash against illegal immigration.”

Having devoted a good deal of gray matter to the possibility of a second Civil War, it never occurred to me that things could unfold the way Raul Ramos y Sanchez depicts it in “America Libre”, a book that I have not read by the way.

While I was analyzing the possibility of Civil War II, in which I envision the American citizenry outraged to the point of taking the only means left to battle the injustice of illegal immigration, he has a different but yet parallel view of what could be an outcome of our ever increasing state of anarchy. I say parallel because both are a violent and radical outcome due to events in the present and very recent past.

I haven’t considered that the recent state of lawlessness and United States politicians pandering to foreign interests and people, would embolden these people of foreign lands, to the extent that they would wage a revolution against our government. Though I haven’t considered it, apparently that hasn’t prevented others from thinking along these lines.

The books first chapter opens with this quote…

“The origins of any political revolution parallel the beginnings of life on our planet. The amino acids and proteins lie inert in a volatile primordial brew until a random lightning strike suddenly brings them to life.

Interesting analogy. Is there any doubt that the “amino acids and proteins” are currently lying inert just waiting for that proverbial spark? Or has the spark already ignited the “primordial brew”?


While the vast majority of American citizens, brainwashed by an anti American mainstream media, indulges their preoccupation with MTV, iPods and the shallowness of celebrities as well as other mundane pursuits, the under currents of events and thought processes are totally ignored to the detriment of our our collective futures.

Will our political leaders heed the very disturbing warning signals that are abound and numerous? If so, how will they respond? Will it be with best interests of the American people in mind or will they continue down the road of anarchy and pandering to foreign lands, special interests and foreign people?

If recent history is any indication, I wouldn’t bet on them acting in a patriotic and honorable manner. Nor would I subscribe to their side of the wager that the American people have been sedated by the MSM and the political elite to the extent that we will just lie down and accept the destruction of our great nation.

In light of this, and as an insurance policy for my fellow patriots, I offer the following not so tongue in cheek advice. Buy and hoard canned food and bullets.

Cardinal Mahony and La Raza!

And the homily to the ‘Tan Klan’, oops! I of course meant to say ‘The Race!” appears to be how best to “sell” amnesty to the rubes so he can rake in more dough for his corrupt crime syndicate…

My favorite bit is around the 3:00 mark when he talks about the so-called ‘one time’ ‘86 amnesty. He communicates how it wasn’t enough, and that lunatics like himself wanted an endless amnesty that would never end. Hmmm, let me guess, think we’ll hear that the current amnesty is IT! Never again, cross our hearts and hope to die? Pinky swear!

But what tickled me was his insistence that “they” were asking about “tomorrow and the next day,” i.e. the hundeds of millions more of peons they could import to weaken this country and turn it into the socialist paradise of their sickening dreams and fantasies.

Interesting isn’t it? That all he can recall of ‘86 is that it wasn’t enough, that it didn’t provide enough treats for him and his favorite people, whereas sane people recall that the only thing actually missing from the ‘86 “one time” amnesty was the enforcement necessary to keep us from being where we are today.

The true lesson of this sickening display is that it’s never enough, no number will ever be enough until they engulf this country with folks that hate us and our way of life, all in the name of serving Jesus, isn’t that special?

Do you believe that it’s Jesus will to destroy the United States? I certainly don’t think that’s true. I think it’s just about time to revive the Know Nothings.

The New Sanctuary Movement

The New Sanctuary Movement is a collection of Christian Churches along with some Synagogues, Muslims and Sikhs that have pledged to:

• Take a public, moral stand for immigrants’ rights
• Reveal, through education and advocacy, the actual suffering of immigrant workers and families under current and proposed legislation
• Protect immigrants against hate, workplace discrimination, and unjust deportation

Their intent is to harbor, in their various sanctuaries, illegal immigrant families facing deportation.

Of course they realize that such action is illegal and irrelevant. Religious sanctuary has never been recognized in the United States -- at least not officially. One only needs to look at the storming of the Koresh compound in Texas as an example.

The bottom line is that if the government wants them, all they have to do is issue a warrant and the marshals will be in your church with handcuffs at the ready. The government would try to avoid that, but if push came to shove, the feds would come knocking with a warrant in hand and there ain't a priest, imam, rabbi, or shaman that is going to legally stop them.

In most cases, these churches don't even know the backgrounds of these people. Some could be felons. I'm not saying every Muslim illegal immigrant is a savage jihadi, but three of the Fort Dix Six were here illegally.

This from KOMO-TV Seattle:

"Arrests by ICE (the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency) over the last few months ... seem by many of us designed to create a culture of fear," said Rev. Robert Taylor of St. Mark's. "We're talking about separation of families. That is not a family value that most of us want to be associated with."

Boo Hoo. We are talking anchor babies. Illegals who come here and have kids born here.

It's a choice. These people have chosen to come here and break the law. We have a right to our borders and a say in who comes here legally. The come here, knowingly breaking the law, and have a kid. They also know that the consequense can include deportation and that means the kid gets shuffled off into the foster care program. It's not the government being mean, it's people making wrong choices; choosing to break the law.

The brand of Christianity I subscribe to teaches personal responsibility. My bible teaches me to submit to the laws of my country. Sure, it's a lot easier submitting in a country like the USA, but when Jesus told us to render unto Caesar, there was no such place as the USA.

ICE needs to arrest some of these folks in a church to show them that a church is no refuge from the law.

Lindsey Graham Tells Americans to “Shut Up”

A video of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) at the Capital Awards gala hosted by the National Council of La Raza proves that the only thing broken when it comes to our immigration debacle is the spine of our elected officials. This is a United States Senator saying that we need to tell the “bigots” who disagree with amnesty for illegal aliens to “shut up”. In his disgraceful pandering to illegal aliens, he even states that to be an American is just an “idea” and “no group owns being an American”.

If that were true, everyone in the world could be an American in an instant by merely having his simpleton “idea”. If he really wants to focus on what it means to be an American, I have a few points for Mr. Graham to ponder. To be an American is a privilege handed down to us by our ancestors and there are many of us that believe it is also a blessing from God. It means we have inherited this land because of the sweat, the tears, the work, and the lives of those that came before us. To be an American means to be humbled, awed, and dare I say grateful for what we have inherited. And it also means that we must be good stewards of our inheritance lest we lose it and there ceases to be a nation the world looks to as an example of freedom.

And I beg to differ with Mr. Graham when he says, “nobody owns this”. The American people own this nation and the right to the proud title of being an American citizen, Mr. Graham. We bought and paid for it with our lives and the lives of our ancestors in past and present wars and also with the almighty tax dollars we send to keep idiots like you in business. You sir, are a disgrace to the Republican Party.

To those members in the Senate preparing to fritter away this nation with their veiled amnesty attempts meant only to cover their dereliction of duty, I can only say that you are treasonous, treacherous, ungrateful, dangerous fools.
